As Stan goes to bed, he listens to the album on his ipod stashed under his bed and it sounded like someone shitting in his ear. Randy begins to resort to tweenaged habits as he continues to listen to Tween Wave because his failed dreams of being a rockstar causes him to be unable to consider the Tween Wave music as shit as he's getting older. This prompts Randy go on stage and play guitar and fart into the microphone at the bowling alley under the alias Steamy Ray Vaughn, this "abuse to his breeches" catches the attention of two farmers. While at Kenny and Cartman whatch Kyle play L.A. Noire at Kyle's house, Stan enters and immediately begins complaining that things are shitty. So in an effort to appease Stan the guys go for ice cream sundaes and Stan complains that the sundae is shit, aggravating his friends. During a special duet with Steamy Nicks, a woman that Randy found in a Tween Music chatroom, Sharon barges in and demands to know what he is doing. Stan is then seen sitting alone in a diner because all his friends have told him that they are are sick. When he suddently notices them walking along outside. Stan joins the boys while they see X-Men: First Class under the condition that Stan doesn't complain. However, during the trailers for the new Adam Sandler movie, Stan sees it as Shit shitting on shit and as a fountain spewing shit and Kyle warns him. Then during the trailer for the new Jim Carrey movie everything seems like shit to Stan and Kyle warns him again. Finally, during a trailer for a movie about a duck being president Stan has another outburst and the guys leave the theatre complaining about how annoying Stan has become. As Kenny and Cartman walk away from Stan, Kyle stops for a moment to tell Stan that he's changed, as this happens Stan sees Kyle spewing shit until Kyle is just a piece of shit. Stan and Kyle then walk away from each other.

Meanwhile, Randy gets caught up in the "Tween Wave" craze (in order to hold on to his childhood dreams of becoming a rockstar) and after finding out that Tween Wave is playable, he starts performing the music at the local bowling alley under the name "Steamy Ray Vaughn," repeatedly farting into his pants as part of the act. During a "duet" with a woman billing herself as "Steamy Nicks," Sharon catches Randy at the bowling alley and drags him home, resulting in a huge argument. At some point in the argument, Randy reveals that why he did many weird things (like getting into fights with other dads at baseball games, playing World of Warcraft, and becoming a celebrity chef) is because he's unhappy. Sharon and Randy are fighting about Randy's schemes from previous episodes when Randy admits to Sharon that he's unhappy and she admits that she's unhappy too. Meanwhile, the farmers are evesdropping and steal Randy's pants while Randy and Sharon fight. Sharon states that "people grow older, people grow apart". During a musical montage set to Landslip by Fleetwood Mac, we see: Stan sitting at Stark's pond when Kyle approches, hesitates and leaves him alone, Sharon and Shelly packing in the Kitchen, Randy explaining the divorce to Stan, the house going up for sale, Randy driving away with the house in the rear view mirror, Stan sitting on the motionless swing in the backyard as he stares at the shit in the sun, Stan continuing to see everyone around him at his school as shit, the farmers who stole the pants getting apprehended with other clothing, Kyle and Cartman at Kyle's House playing video games while they smile, Stan walking down main street when a passing duck sprays shit at Stans face. Finally the song ends as Stan is lying on his bed in a bare room and the the screen fades to black and the credits roll in silence.

At Stan's 10th birthday party, one of his presents is the latest CD from a "Tween Wave" band. Sharon forbids Stan from listening to it, and promptly takes the CD away. Later, Randy and Sharon argue over the CD. Randy decides to sit down and listen to the CD (which, to the viewer, is the sound of farting and drum beats). That night, Stan secretly listens to the confiscated music but discovers, to his confusion, that it now sounds "like shit." He tells Kyle this the next morning.

Afraid that something is wrong with him, Stan goes to Dr. Caroll, who initially tells him that his musical tastes are naturally changing as he grows up. During these tests, however, Stan begins to view everything he sees and hears as feces, leading the doctor to diagnose him with being a "cynical asshole". So now, from ice cream to movie trailers, Stan can now only see the bad in things. Kyle, Kenny and Cartman stop hanging out with Stan, because they think he is "a major buzzkill"; soon, Kyle and Stan say their final exclamations to each other. In the middle of this, Stan views Kyle as a large piece of feces, spewing nothing but feces, and calmly walks away, thus ending their long friendship.
