This page contains trivia for "You're Getting Old". Remember, trivia must be factual, provable, and it is always best to cite your source for not-so-obvious trivia. If you would like to dispute a trivia point, please discuss it in the talk page.

Trivia

  • At the end Kyle and Cartman were seemingly friendly and most likely will be friends.
  • Stan's birthday is in October, yet the airdate of this episode is in June (although, considering that a second part to the story seems to have been set up, it is possible that it is set in October when South Park comes back on air). A similar thing happened with Cartman in "Damien".
  • Stan and Kyle break off their friendship in this episode, but unlike other times, they don't make up at the end.
  • Kenny is unhooded at Stan's party - unlike usual, though, his face is not obscured. If you listen carefully you can hear Kenny cheer and sing Stan a round of Happy Birthday.
  • When a news report speaks about the Tween Wave, the network is CNN and not altered as South Park usually do with every network name.
  • Stan's Wi-Fi is called "singular".
  • All of the boys have an iPod/iPhone, except Kenny who has an iPod Shuffle.
  • This episode had the least viewers for the season so far, with 2.295 million.

References to Popular Culture

  • There are multiple references to the game L.A. Noire in this episode, by the characters' verbal comments on its gameplay and by its direct name. It is looked on with a positive perspective in all but Stan's case.
  • When Randy performs on stage, there's an arcade machine with Custer's Revenge in the background - a video game infamous for its offensive content and regarded one of the worst video games ever made.
  • The song that is played towards the end of the episode is "Landslide" by Stevie Nicks, whose likeness is featured in the episode as "Steamy Nicks" through Randy's partner. "Landslide" was also mentioned earlier in the episode as a song that she wrote.

Continuity

  • Randy and Sharon reveal that they aren't happy together and divorce. This is the second time this has happened, after "Clubhouses". However, this could be the real end of their marriage.
  • After the first episode in the season, "HUMANCENTiPAD", it seemed that Liane Cartman started behaving strictly towards her son, able to not fall for Cartman's faking of being a good kid, however this is changed again in the current episode, in which Cartman seems to gain control over his mother's life as it was before "HUMANCENTiPAD".
  • When Sharon talks about Randy getting into baseball fights, obsessing over World of Warcraft, and becoming a chef. These are references to the events that happened in "The Losing Edge", "Make Love, Not Warcraft", and "Crème Fraiche" respectively.
  • This is the second episode to feature a cliffhanger that would be revealed months later. The first was the Season Finale of Season 1.
  • This is the only episode where Cartman and Kyle have seemed to have gotten along throughout the entire episode, and even seem to be new best friends in the end despite their many years of constant conflict and hostility between each other.
  • The game "Thirst for Blood" can be seen in arcade form at the pizza party.

Goofs

  • When Sharon is washing the dishes, the thumb on her right hand switches sides.

Controversy

  • This episode caused a massive uproar among the fans. Many 'tweets' whether this would be the last episode of South Park. However, the airdates for the next seven episodes has been announced on South Park Studios.
