- During the shot of the crowd from the stage, a "mirror" effect can be seen on the left side of the screen, resulting in several pairs of twins appearing along the edge of the shot.
- On televised airings, when the sheet music that the boys changed appears on the stage wall, the camera zooms in on the changed note, but in the DVD version, it does not zoom in at all.

References to Popular Culture[]
- One of the New Yorker kids are wearing a shirt that says Ekko, this is likely a parody of the Ecko clothing line.
- The boys, along with the New York children, stay at the Roman Holiday Inn. This is a reference to the 1953 romantic comedy Roman Holiday starring Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn.
- Cartman says that "they should bring back another season of Chicago Hope, though, seriously." Chicago Hope is an American medical drama television series that was in its final season when this episode aired.
- Mr. Garrison's line: "Second star to the right, and straight on 'til morning" is a reference to a line in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. The line was, in turn, a quote from Peter Pan.
- Cartman threatens Kyle and tells him once he finds The Brown Note "I'll just make you crap yourself so you look like Karen Carpenter". This is a reference to the singer, who was part of the 1970s music duo, The Carpenters. She had suffered from anorexia most of her life and it is believed that she had been consuming large amounts of laxatives, along with thyroid medication and strict dieting, in order to help her lose weight before her sudden death in 1983 at the age of 32.
- When Mr. Garrison walks out of his parents' house, he sings "Put on a Happy Face" by Dick Van Dyke.
Continuity[]
- The Chinese dodgeball players from "Conjoined Fetus Lady" can be seen among the citizens in China, shortly after the brown note was played.
Goofs[]

- When The New York Kids say that mung a real word, and the boys say, "It is?", the children directly behind The New Yorker Kids turn around and join in saying, "Yeah"; Tolkien, Bill and Red appear to be saying this. They along with multiple other copies of kids from South Park Elementary are also are shown laughing when the boys are corrected that mung is a word. They could just be laughing at the their stupidity, though.
- The crowd shot of all the kids at the concert has tons of repeated character designs.
- Some kids are seen standing next to identical versions of themselves showing where each group was mirrored whilst animating the episode.
- Additionally The New York Kids' definition of mung is actually incorrect as it is a multi-purpose acronym that means "Mush Until No Good".
- The boys changed the last note to the lowest octave of E-flat according to the score, not the brown noise they stated, which needs to be 92 cents lower, and there is no means within the stave that can identify this brown noise.
- Towards the end of the episode as the third-graders were getting on the bus, there was another bus on the background labeled "Honolulu School District", which is impossible given that a journey between Honolulu and Arkansas requires traveling across the Pacific Ocean.
Kenny's Death[]
- When everyone at the concert plays the "Brown Noise", Kenny is one of the many people who died from then releasing of his bowels. However, due to a continuity error, he is seen alive on the bus at the end of the episode.
