"Wok Is Dead" is the fourth episode of Season Twenty-Seven, and the 325nd overall episode of South Park. It first aired on Sep 3, 2025.
Synopsis[]
Butters experiences the reality of tariffs when he has to buy a Labubu doll for his girlfriend’s birthday.

At school, Nelly is really excited to show her new Serenity Labubu toy to Betsy, who both croon over it and she reveals she has a Loyalty Labubu of her own. They both fawn over that one too, plus two others. Nearby, Cartman and Craig are very excited to see a violent fight with the two girls over Labubus again, and invites all the others to watch the fight begin. As they both present more Labubus, they argue about whose Labubu dolls are fake or not, then the girls then beat each other up. and PC Principal sees the brawl. They are then sent to the school councillor Jesus Christ... who has no idea even what a Labubu is. Then they hand the dolls in until the end of the day, and He is very suspicious about what they are.
Later on, Butters is playing in the sandpit, when Red McArthur arrives and tells him that her birthday is coming up and asks him whether he would like to visit her. Then she gets nervous and apologises for asking him out, but Butters accepts and Red texts him the details of her birthday wishlist... which consists of just one grey rainbow-eyed Labubu. Butters then imagines that he will finally find out if red-haired girls have a red butt.
Later on after school, it turns out that City Wok has been crudely transformed into City Wok Pop-Up, and starts selling Asian toys. Butters arrives and Tuong Lu Kim explains he can't run a wok store anymore because "wok" is dead. He shows him cheaply made plastic toys (including Chinpokomon figures) and Butters says he only wants the Labubu that Red asked Butters for. Kim then tells him that that grey rainbow Labubus are hard to find, and buying any kinds of Labubus are very expensive, due to tariffs. The only way that Butters can get the rainbow one he wants is to fork over $85 and lucky-dip into a Labubu blind box and hope it's the one he wants.. Kim's wife Wing arrives and gets mad at her husband for forcing children to pay tariffs and hand over extra money for these toys, and should go back to cooking orange chicken at City Wok. He spends the money and opens a box, only to discover a common Happiness Labubu inside, and Kim tells him if he wants to try again, he will have to pay another $85 for another blind box, and then goes on to say that he won't be f**ked by the tariff, but the consumer, calling the move a “Hot Potato”.
Meanwhile on a FOX News report, Donald Trump is reported leaving his private plane Air Force 1 after a trip from a "historic tax summit, along with his “partner” Satan. Many diverse reporters from FOX all greet him on the tarmac, with Don telling them the tariff move went great. They know that his wife has moved away from the white house, but they want to know the truth... is Donald Trump f***ing Satan? Don then dismisses them saying it isn't true, and the Devil tells them “we're just partners.” The reporters tell him that the whole country thinks he is f***ing Satan, his partner then drags him off-camera, and the reporters all believe he is surely f***ing Satan.
Back at the school, PC Principal has called a meeting bringing all the staff over, saying that Christian values need to be brought back. Jesus wants to make one thing clear. Fist fighting has gone up ever since Labubus became a trend, which everyone agrees that young people love and hunt for rare ones, and make TikTok videos from, which one is played to the staff. It shows a girl named Kelly Bronson unboxing a rare blue Labubu which certainly isn't a fake. She then screams in delight and then starts a Satanic ritual, causing the camera to go fuzzy. After drawing a demon circle in her room and placing the Labubu in the centre, plus killing a live caged chicken and drinking and puking up its blood, the Labubu comes to life with its Mesopotamian black magic, and rises from the ground and attacks her, causing her to scream in fright, then the video prematurely ends. Then after Jesus wonders what on earth He's seen, Mr Garrison assures Him that it's just another Labubu Unboxing TikTok and it happens all the time, and the other staff just shrug off how evil the toys truly are, and though Jesus is very afraid, Mr. Adler reminds Him that every school needs a councillor, and it will be up to Him to sort out this problem.
The next day back at City Wok Pop Up, Butters returns with all the money he saved up in his piggybank as quarters worth $88.42, only to find out that Labubu prices have gone up to $120 due to the tariff. Butters says that is isn't fair and Kim agrees. But although he can't afford one, he is told he can win a Labubu at the claw machine in his shop, Butters uses the machine and as a fake version of the Labubu song is heard, the claw lets go of the prize on the first try. Kim tells him he was so close, and he puts more money in the machine. Wing then returns to have a go at Kim for “sc***ing children” for making them pay tariffs because he himself gets sc***ed by tariffs and that he is bringing misfortune to his restaurant. Kim responds by saying "Wok" isn't coming back and if you "go wok, go brock".
That same day, Jesus calls the parents of Sophie and Lola to bring their children for a meeting after they too got into a Labubu fight. Jesus wants to simply take the dolls away but Lola's mum thinks that's a bad idea. Jesus then tells them that they are indeed being used for Satanic rituals, but Sophie's mum tells him that's indeed true, but only the rare Labubus can be used for such a ritual. Lola's mum then tells him that once they've seen Kelly Miller do a ritual on TikTok, they had to do one themselves.... then Kelly hung herself. Jesus realises something has to be done to keep everyone safe, so He suggests banning TikTok as well. They ask Jesus if He had any kids which He said He didn't, and if He ever does, that they too should stay away from TikTok and Asian pop-up stores... only for Jesus to ask what even is an Asian pop-up store. Sophie then reminds her mother that Jesus is a crappy councelor.
On FOX News the debate rages on about whether or not Trump is f***ing Satan, with a reporter showing photos of him with Satan getting reluctantly massaged on a ship, doing shopping and having a wine-and dine, believing it is indeed true. To further prove their point, the reporter plays footage of Donald and the devil on a golf course, Donald getting naked and they go behind a bush to do... you know. A Karen of the FOX representatives loves the fact that Donald is f***ing Satan. The reporter then says that some people think there's no way, and a body language expert predicts it still can be possible, most likely from behind. He then rides on the back of another man who runs around in circles to show that is how he can indeed be f***ing Satan.
Back in South Park, Jesus arrives in his car to City Wok Pop-Up, and makes an angelic entrance into the building. He asks Lu Kim if he's the one selling Labubus to children, and he tells them that he's mad that the tariffs for them have gone up. Jesus tells him that Labubus are cursed, which Kim solemnly agrees with because they cost so much to import, and it's like putting a curse on himself, then passing it onto the customers (like AIDS.) Butters then cheers in delight when by a stroke of luck, he has managed to win the rare Grey Rainbow Labubu that Red wanted. Jesus tells Butters to put it back, Lu Kim tells him that the one Butters found was rare and he must pay $600 extra tariff, and Wing tells him that he can't let Kim make Butters pay more money. But Jesus knows how evil Labubus truly are and Butters should not take it to a birthday party but he has already left the building by the time He finishes His sentence.
At The White House, Satan looks very dejected and sits on a bench, next to his own evil Satanic box. FOX newsmen are watching him with cameras from outside. J.D. Vance walks next to him and asks him why he is so sad, and the devil wishes he could leave The White House and go back to ruling Hell. But he can't because of something, which he kept a secret to the world in his box. When J.D. asks him what's in it, he explains that nobody should know, but soon everyone will discover for themselves in due course, and that times have changed and the "final showdown" is near.
At Red's Labubu-themed birthday party, everyone is playing with their demon dolls, some fighting over them, and Butters enters the house dressed in a smart suit. He then presents his gift, and Red screams with delight when she gets her rainbow grey Labubu. She hugs Butters, shows the doll to her friends, and decides she will take Butters up to her bedroom to "do it" with her. Butters is confused as he thinks it means "sex". Jesus Christ then drives in his car looking for the Rainbow Grey Labubu and calls the school staff to find which student is having a birthday so he can find the right house. The vice-principal Bev at first doesn't recognise His voice, and she says that He should already know whose birthday it is. Bev then searches for the right person on her PC, "doing his job for him."
At Red's bedroom, Butters is still confused, when handed her phone, asking “shouldn't we both kiss first?” as she draws the demon circle in chalk on her floor ready to start a ritual. Butters records everything that's going on and shows off her Labubu on camera and gets ready to find out if it actually "works". The other girls then join in the ritual, and Red gets her chicken out of a cage to sacrifice. All the girls get in a circle and chant “Labubu, Labubu!” repeatedly with the doll in the circle center. Butters stands in total shock as Red murders the chicken. Red and black clouds surround the town, as the power goes out, the demon circle glows and the doll rises from the ground transforming into a fiery portal which Red summons an evil spirit to appear before her and the others, thinking it's "so cool". And they got exactly what they wanted, as Donald Trump appears from out of the portal, because he is “f***ing Satan”. All the girls dismiss him and think he's gross, only for him to say he isn't f***ing Satan, and the actual Satan then appears right behind Don and scares everybody out of their wits!
Another FOX report shows that dark and red clouds and locust swarms are an obvious sign of another Labubu party, and the Devil and Satan always make an appearance at one. Jesus and Satan have been spotted in the town and recording them live is a FOX camera in a helicopter, and all the girls leave the house, followed by Trump and the red guy. Jesus stops “Lucifer” before they can escape, and they prepare to face off. Jesus asks him what he is doing on Earth, and then FOX vans show up to record the "Biblical showdown" live. Jesus asks Satan to leave the realm of Earth, and Satan says he would love to leave, but he is bound to Donald, as what's in his secret box will prevent him. Beelzebub hands it to Christ, and then tells the press that he and Don are indeed together and has been for months and wants out of this relationship, but he can't because he says he is pregnant with The President’s child, and inside the box was a pink pregnancy checker confirming that he is indeed pregnant, so he is forced to stay in this situation at the white house for a couple of years. Everyone at FOX is in deep shock, and a scientist confirms that indeed demonic pregnancies can happen, except out the rear of the “mother”, the term being “butt baby”.
Now that this news has been confirmed, one mystery has been solved. Donald Trump is indeed “f***ing Satan” and everyone cheered and champagne corks were popped. All the doubters including the musician Kid Rock are amazed by this, him crying tears of joy.
At school the next day, Red and Butters are informed by Jesus that if they mess around and aren't safe then there can be big consequences. Butters tells Him that he won't be having sex for a long time, and Red then tells Him that she's done with Labubus after what happened last night. Then He tells them that Labubus, TikTok and cellphones will be banned from the school from now on. He then sends them back to class to serve detention for two weeks for causing a Satanic Labubu ritual. As they leave, Butters says the new counselor is "kind of a dick", but Red says at least He's better than the last one. Jesus then sits back and smiles, as the Labubu song plays one last time, and the credits roll.
