==Welcome back!==
Great to see you again! I've decided to go with an idea of yours from a while ago about creating all character pages, and if you haven't seen, we've scrapped the lists and I've begun a Portal for characters, here: [[Portal:Characters]]. As seen here on "[[The Ring]]", I've tried to get articles made for ''everything'' possible and made the pages more inviting with pictures and video! I want to start adding scripts of episodes, and wondered if you could help. The FA idea is great, because as you can probably tell, the whole FA system has never worked well at times, so it'd be good to give it a kick-start! Revision as of 13:32, April 10, 2009

I am a new account member. Hello everyone! In case you were wondering, I am the one who's been requesting the changes of, the repairments of, and the additions of images of the characters. I still have yet to learn how to do this. Could one of you account members with more experience please explain to me how this can be accomplished? That would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Wilhelmina Will and welcome to South Park Wiki!

Unfortunately the site is a bit of a ghost town with little active users. So this means that any contributions you give will be much appreciated.

By the way, if you have any queries please tell me, such as your idea about images. If you're wondering how to add images of your own, we request that you use them from only sites such as South Park Studios and Comedy Central since these images are much more accurate. When you have it saved on your computer/laptop you can then upload it. Uploading images is easy and will become a much quicker process once you get used to it. First, you click on "Upload file". This link can be found here or by looking at the key on the left hand side on the page, it's near the bottom of the key. You then click on browse and your computer files will come up (much like opening a document on wordpad). The name of your document should come up next to the browse icon. If you're not satisfied with the name, change it. Then add a short description of the picture. For example, if it is a screenshot from the episode Fantastic Easter Special you would add: Screenshot from episode 1105: Fantastic Easter Special. You may also add in what website you used to get it from, but please use an official site! I'm not 100% sure about File Destination but I'm quite sure it explains about the file links it came from on your computer/laptop.

Anyway, happy editing and good luck!

Thank you very much!!! I'll get to that ASAP!!!

Wilhelmina Will June 10th, 2007

Lack of potential images!

Well, I tried taking your advice, but I'm afraid there was one major problem... there were no useful images available! Of course, I only tried the South Park Studios site, and not the Comedy Central site, but you would have thought they'd have had something. In particular, you see, I was trying to find one for Sally, but I couldn't even see anything mentioned about her. I'll go and try the Comedy Central site now, and then I'll write in if I had any luck. If I say I didn't, could you please tell me how I might be able to get the desired images off of these sites? Thank you very much!

Wilhelmina Will June 11th, 2007/12:25 a.m.

Well you don't have to worry. I finally managed to get an abundance of images. I wasn't entirely satisfied with each and every one of them, though, but I did at least get the job done. The articles for (Leopold Stotch, Craig, Jimmy Vulmer, Sally, Mr. and Mrs. McCormick, Mr. and Mrs. Tweek, Millie, and Bebe Stevens) look much better now, no?

Wilhelmina Will 1:52 a.m. June 11th, 2007.

Yes, I've had the same problem with getting pictures. Anyway, the other option I forgot to mention (huge apology on this one) is that you can take screenshots from episodes. Sorry about that! The pages look much cleaner now. Get back to me if there are any more queries, I'll be happy to help! Mr. Garrison 17:48, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

As a matter of fact, I got this through putting a complaint about a user who was a vandal/sockpuppet. The administrator then made me and User:Lemniwinks admin. You have deffinetely shown dedication and I will recommed you. The first message on my talk page is about my administration. By the way, I totally agree: always reply on the other person's talk page. I have had many problems with not realising there have been replies! Mr. Garrison 17:31, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

The plain images are from a program called South Park create-a-character. It can be found on South Park Studios. By the way I think I put a message on your userpage by accident - :/ Mr. Garrison 18:59, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

Sadly, that's the curse of create-a-character. It's easy and quick but not accurate enough, that's why I suggest you have a root around SP studios, I'm sure they'll have an image somewhere :) By the way, thanks for the character pages they're looking good! If we had more up to scratch articles like them this Wikia could start to function better! Mr. Garrison 17:10, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

I would believe they screenshotted it and altered the settings after pasting it and making it into a jpg format. Kinda confusing, that's why I don't use it. Anyway, you could always try but it's a long ol' process. Mr. Garrison 15:37, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

Well, the only other way is by using good ol' fashion screenshots from episodes or have a root around on SP studios. I'll upload some screens soon! :) Mr. Garrison 18:08, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

Firstly, do you have a DVD program that allows the viewing of DVDs on a computer such as PowerDVD? Mr. Garrison 09:38, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

There should be a camera icon, this will take a screenshot. Paste the screenshot into a document and change the format to bmp (paintbrush). Then paste the picture into an image of jpg format and then you have a screenshot! Mr. Garrison 17:01, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

Re:Episode pages

As a matter of fact, I created all the pages from Summer Sucks to The Red Badge of Gayness (apart from Rainforest Schmainforest) and the majority of season eleven. I totally agree with you and will begin with Are You There God? It's me, Jesus. Mr. Garrison 15:41, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Sorry for late response!

I really must apologise, I haven't been on the internet since last Thursday since I've been caught up in Harry Potter once more and am still reading book six, drat I know what will happen! By the way, that idea will work and is a darn good one. I'm still reading but am looking into tweaking some stuff on the main page/episode list etc so I might not be online much. Mr. Garrison 15:39, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

I've been having a look through the DVDs, find some good ol' screenshots of characters on their own. I'm probably gonna wait for Season 10 to come out, there's some good screenshots I could get from there. I've also been working on a category about page layouts such as spoilers, TBAs etc. Well, about 350 pages left then I'm back for good. By the way, still interested in being an admin? Mr. Garrison 20:46, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

350 pages of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows that is, not Wiki pages - 350 pages would be a whole lot of work! Mr. Garrison 20:47, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Before I put your name forward, take a look-see at the Admin guide (there's a link on my talk page) just so you get the basics, then I'll put your name forward and we'll see how it goes from there. Mr. Garrison 22:34, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Okay then, I'll get straight to it tomorrow. It's nearly midnight where I am! Mr. Garrison 22:53, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

Okay then. Wish you well during your absence and hope to see you soon. Mr. Garrison 11:57, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

Great! It's good to have help, and someone else to talk to! We're the only two active users! Anyway, thanks for making the efforts to get back online and I'll do all I can to keep the Wikia "kick ass!" while you're gone. Mr. Garrison 21:39, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

Good point, season ten came out today! At long last! Have you seen season eleven yet? Mr. Garrison 22:47, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

I tend to watch them online, I can't bare to miss new South Park! Anyway, I thought we should start a little project for the Season 11B launch on October 3rd. Interested? Mr. Garrison 23:00, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

Season 11B Launch Project

The idea would be we redress the front page with a countdown of days to the new season (we'd start September 3rd - 1 month before). Also we'd get all articles up to date with the latest episodes as well as make sure all this year's episodes have pages. We'd also alter the front page (perhaps change the latest episodes box into a news box), and add links to websites with information on new episodes. Mr. Garrison 11:24, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

Active Users

Hi, I was wondering if you could add yourself to category:active users. This will show who actually is active. The categories are going through a MAJOR cleanup and hopefully it'll make the site easier to navigate. I've got a feeling more people will come if they see just how worthwhile the site can be! Mr. Garrison 11:11, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

That was me, I can't find a merge button and I think we should create a list for minor characters instead of too many character articles. Check out List of South Park family members! Mr. Garrison 17:37, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

Apologies on that one, I've restored them so I can merge them, and I would hope that you will be happy to complete a list on minor characters from season 3! If you wish to retrieve anything more from Kelly/Pearl's articles, give us a shout. Thanks for the vandal info, we shan't be seeing them for quite some time; or infinite should I say? Mr. Garrison 18:31, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

That's a great idea, and the news of three more seasons (after season twelve) is fantastic! Season ten on DVD just arrived now, so I'm going to watch it straight away! Hopefully there'll be some good character stories coming up. The link to the season three page is here, (as I'm sure you know because of the work you've done on it - it looks much better) and I hope you could bring up to a better status than how I left it a few days prior. Thanks! Mr. Garrison 15:44, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

Re:Season pages

As a matter of fact, I have made one Season Eleven, and yes that is a good idea.

In regards to my 'old friend' Flatts, I believe he only has the capabilities to edit his user page/ talk page etc. but nothing else. If he does somehow come back, well, we all know what will happen to him, :) Mr. Garrison 12:12, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

TV Wikia collaberation

Hi, User:Toughpigs asked if we would add the TV Wikia signpost to the bottom of the main page to make the Wikis seem like one big one instead of individual ones. Mind you, we'd have a Family Guy Wiki link on the main page, don't let Cartman know! Mr. Garrison 12:22, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

Featured article vote

Hi! Be sure to voice your opinion on the vote for October's featured article! (It's a new thing by the way). Mr. Garrison 18:44, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

Re:Votes for articles

Hi again, firstly, apologies for all them separate messages by there was a lot going on yesterday. The comedy footer's on the main page (toughpigs kindly redesigned it to fit so big thanks to him!) and also, have you had much experience for Featured Article requests? It's very similar to votes for deletion (that needs a page actually...), you basically vote for one article you want to be featured (our current one is Fantastic Easter Special) you can also vote for one already on there (I posted Eric Cartman. There's one vote each (just to make things fair!) but there's only three active users. That brings me to my next point, User:Mr.Hankey is a friend of mine, and is still finding his feet on here so excuse him if he does anything odd, but he is a true fan (he's watched all episodes like me), by the way? How many have you watched? My final point is the List of Episodes. I've started to reformat it (this will make it shorter and easier to load) but the nice detailed episode lists have been moved to their appropriate season. Thanks for reading, that was a long message, and I'll hope to hear from you soon! Mr. Garrison 19:52, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

I have no idea!

As the title says. I don't know where this could have come from, but it seems like nothing to worry about...for now. Mr. Garrison 11:22, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

Re:Main Page

Let's just say there'll be a few more changes to it as the new season arrives... Mr. Garrison 10:47, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

I have to confess I have left the proposal for a while (I had believed you would be leaving) but rest asure, your message today (as well as your many much-needed contributions) have made me feel you are staying here for good. With Lemniwinks gone as well as Tomius I believe that we need another admin, and I think you deserve this right. By the way, keep an eye out for User:Ned and User:Mom, Ned contributed to Flatt's talk page, so best we keep our eyes peeled... Mr. Garrison 16:19, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

Well, that they seem to have not watched the show judging by their comments. Just a hunch...probably wrong. Oh and I've left a message for you to become admin, you should hear from them soon. Mr. Garrison 17:38, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

Re:Episode list

I'll certainly be getting to work on that. By the way, I thought I should point out about pages copied directly off their Wikipedia counterparts. This doesn't apply to me and you, but a large number of people are doing this (even Lemniwinks - an admin who previously removed information copied directly from Wikipedia), could you help? And as for the Myspace pages, that is rather strange, maybe you've found a gateway to another world, but look out for killer pets and people with beards! Mr. Garrison 16:06, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

Re:Article renames

Well, I guess that's a good idea, but bear in mind new users and passers by who may be a tad confused. Anyway, if the page "Imaginationland" is confusing that it is split in two, that's because no title has been given for the next part. Mr. Garrison 09:21, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

Because of the very odd rules I'm afraid I can't ban them just yet, but one more step out of line and they won't be coming back - trust me; my eyes are peeled for any more vandalism... Mr. Garrison 12:26, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

UPDATE: I have stumbled across this IP address' contributions - they're all vandalism. Due to multiple occasions of vandalism they're permanently banned, so we will not be seeing them again! Mr. Garrison 17:21, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

That's good to know

I thought the recent changes page looked a bit empty! Anyway, good to hear you're staying and yes, it does look like we have a few more users (mainly IP adresses) -- if only they'd make accounts... Mr. Garrison 16:39, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the welcome. It's not so much that I personally have a problem with unverified claims - provided they make sense and aren't complete bullshit - but if unverified claims are against a websites policies, then I believe the users of that site should respect that. For example, Cartman's article at Wikipedia is a fascinating read - full of psychological analysis of Eric's warped little mind - but there's no sources for any of that information, which means it's just fan's personal interpretations and the article fails Wikipedia policy miserably. That doesn't mean it wouldn't make a great article for this website, which is written by fans for fans and doesn't need to be as strict with policy as Wikipedia, which is written for everyone. I'm a semi-regular editor over at the Buffyverse Wiki, a wiki which encourages original research to a certain extent, so what I've been doing is rewriting the Buffy articles at Wikipedia, and then moving the innappropiate material over to the Buffyverse Wiki. For example, this is my rewritten article on the character of Faith at Wikipedia, and this is the old Wikipedia article which I moved to Buffyverse Wiki. The way I see it, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia about the real world and should therefore be written from a real-world perspective, whereas SP Wiki and Buffyverse Wiki are encyclopedias about fictional worlds and should therefore be written from the perspective of that fictional world. There's no reason why the two sites can't work together to provide both real-world and in-universe information in the right place. That's why I support linking to Wikia from Wikipedia, although not all editors agree with that. I fought to have the List of Kenny's deaths article deleted from Wikipedia because it failed policy, but I knew it would make a great article/list over here, so I went to the effort of retrieving the page and transwiki-ing it to this site. Paul730 11:18, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

I would completely support a transwiki in Cartman's case - as I said, I personally like that article but it would have to be totally rewritten to pass policy. I say be bold and switch them (although be fairly discriminate about what you place on Wikipedia - such as the quotes). Some of the material here would actually be more suitable for Wikipedia, such as the character images from Jesus Vs Frosty, since that story wasn't really "canon" and conception is an important part of Wikipedia character articles. They'd need fair use rationale, though. If you face any problems transwiki-ing from SP fans who don't want content removed from Wikipedia, contact me and I'll help you fight your case. :) Paul730 00:31, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

  1. Good to see you back!
  2. Yes, that was pretty stupid to do, but I just think blank pages are open to vandalism.
  3. There's a lot of arguements over the correct title of this episode so I think that the correct name needs to be looked into.

And if there are any more pages like this I'll be happy to tell you, and yes I feel I did muck up there....but it won't happen again!

Merry late Christmas and Happy New Year! :)

Important Question...

Still interested in becoming an administrator?

Ah yes, I did recommend you, but I recieved no reply from Wikia central. I intend to look more into this today and find out how I can get you recommended--could take some time though but I'm sure I'll be able to! Oh, and only 10 weeks until the new season arrives!

It certainly looks like Season Twelve's gonna be another one in March, unless a very unexpected stop in production takes place -- fingers crossed it won't! By the way, I'm thinking we should both compile good long list of articles that should be kept on the site, ones that should be deleted and ones that are worth creating. I'll make it as a subpage, give us a message if you're interested!

Randy Pic

Yeah, I was trying to get one that fits better with the infobox, but then again that was an odd one I chose for it shows him in completely different clothing. By the way, my minor characters masterplan is coming into action, but I need your help.... Mr. Garrison 17:53, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

Just a queery...

The new episode pages appear to be copied directly from Wikipedia, which is considered a separate site. If they are copied could you possibly try and de-wikify them? If not I'll do a few later on.

That's a good idea, and yes, I've had a few encounters with that person (not to mention a few arguements...)

Featured Articles

Glad you've took interest. Any article can be featured. The requirements to vote are on the page of featured articles can be found on a link from the main page). So far we don't have the right-hand corner star, because first we need to do proper votes - which we shall start with!

Yes, because the next change will be tomorrow/Friday giving us only one dy to hold any proper discussion. A full month of voting and discussion would probably be better so that we can take the time to review choices, by the way, did you find the Featured Article votes page?

You'll be glad to know...

I've blocked the IP address for a few days (and if they do anymore they'll be gone FOREVER). And we have a problem, there's a tie in votes for featured article, so I'm gonna go for Clyde as you've put a lot of work into it, and I think it's an interesting read with plenty of up-to-date information. By the way, I've had a very good idea, so get back to me as soon as possible...

My first idea is that we need to introduce some type of spelling policy, I say we use American spellings (as South Park is American), i.e. instead of "colour" we use "color". It'll be quite tough to remember though because I'm English, but anyway, I'll try my best to look out for any spellings that are spelt the English way.

Second I think we should come up with character guidlines (if the character deserves an article). I'm not sure if we should do one for EVERY character or ones for just notable ones who appear in several episodes... Mr. Garrison 23:51, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

Happy Easter

Happy Easter! 24 hours and Lent is over! Anyway, the new season has begun so I've got to add up a plot for 1202 now, and it seems promising after the hilarious 1201 involving Cartman getting a certain terminal disease... Mr. Garrison 11:21, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi there! Regarding a discussion with User:Mr. Garrison, you now have admin/sysop powers and privileges on this wiki. That means you can block harmful users, delete vandalism and some other things which are accessible at the bottom of Special:Specialpages (itself linked in the toolbox on the side of the site). One important thing that admins should always do is welcome new people coming to the wiki and making helpful edits. It just takes a few minutes by looking at Special:Recentchanges and seeing which usernames and IPs have a red link for their Talk page. Look at their contributions, and if they're doing things that help the wiki, welcome them with Template:welcome (if they're a username) or Template:welcomeanon (if they're an IP). Thier are instructions on those template pages to see how they work, but let me know if you have any questions about it. —Scott (talk) 21:46, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

You're welcome! I'm really glad we have another person here making the wiki even more awesome. I'm on wikis all the time, so if you need help figuring anything out, don't hesitate to leave me a note on my talk page :) —Scott (talk) 18:06, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

South Park Wiki Wants You!

Hey there, Wilhelmina Will! My name is Joe and I'm a Wikia Helper. I've been focusing a lot lately on the South Park Wiki, and it looks like we're gaining a lot of momentum before the 13th season. I noticed that you haven't been editing here in some time, and I wanted to say hello and offer any help if you need it. Please feel free to post on my talk page if you've got any questions or if you'd like some ideas on how to help. Cheers! — Joe (talk) 23:58, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
