Hey everyone! As your Wiki Representative, I'm here to help keep you all up to date with what's going on around Fandom. So here's a roundup of recent announcements and events.

Quick overview:

  • Trivia quizzes are live on South Park Archives!
  • Trivia Quizzes will be expanding and customized for wiki pages.
  • March is Women's History Month and we're celebrating representation in media.
  • MediaWiki 1.37 upgrades are are starting this month. Visually the wiki should be pretty much unchanged.
  • February was Black History Month, and we ended the month with a cool panel.
  • Fandom Stands with Ukraine and is making donations to humanitarian efforts.

Trivia quizzes are live on South Park Archives![]

With collaboration from the community, four trivia quizzes are now live on South Park Archives! Big thanks to HighJewElfKing, AIstrxemeria, Supergug, Gun34, Raincal.ly, Applebaby12, JohnVMaster, and additional members of the South Park Discord. You're all rock stars!

Quizzes can only be seen by logged-out users for now. So if you log out (or use incognito mode on your browser, or use a different browser), you'll be able to see them. Each quiz is just below the Table of Contents.

Quizzes like these are new and we're still working out some glitches. (After you take the quiz, the "share your score" options give a broken link, so don't use those just yet. 😅)

Are there other pages on the wiki that you'd like to see have a trivia quiz? Mention them below!

Trivia Quizzes are expanding on Fandom[]

Logged-out Fandom visitors will start seeing more trivia quizzes across our top wikis, and the quizzes will be directly relevant to the page topic, just as they are on South Park Archives. These will initially only be visible to logged-out users, so it won't impact your regular logged-in user experience just yet. For now these quizzes can only be set up by Staff.

It's Women's History Month![]

We're celebrating the accomplishments of women and the representation of women in media. Fandom is committed to breaking the bias through our active efforts of inclusion, and we’re calling everyone in and inviting you to amplify and unify your voices as we break the bias together.

Fandom is also spotlighting creators, IPs, and women behind-the-scenes at Fandom that break the bias by forging a path that supports women's equality.

Who are your favorite female characters and creators? Tell Fandom on the blog post!

Fandom will be upgrading to MediaWiki 1.37[]

We're currently on MediaWiki 1.33, and the upgrading begins this month. This should be a fairly easy update, especially when compared to the massive transition to the Unified Community Platform (UCP).

This is not a change to the site's design, so the wiki will look the same. There may be minor visual tweaks here or there as extensions are updated, but otherwise the wiki should pretty much look just as it does now. The update may affect CSS customizations, and as your Wiki Rep, I'm here to assist with that as well.

February was Black History Month[]

In case you missed it, February was Black History Month, and Fandom rounded out the month with a fantastic panel about Black Voices & Content in Genre IP. Check it out on Twitch!

Fandom stands with Ukraine[]

Fandom is a global community, and many of us are feeling this conflict personally. Fandom stands with Ukraine and we are donating to key humanitarian organizations.
