Synopsis

Liane cannot control her son anymore, and decides to use the help of reality TV shows to show that Cartman's behavior can be controlled.

Plot

At South Park Elementary, Mr. Mackey has called Ms. Cartman and Cartman to his office to discuss the latter's behavior. Liane bursts into tears after explaining how difficult it is to control her son's behavior. Mr. Mackey recommends a TV show called Nanny 911, which features Deborah Carroll, Yvonne Finnerty, and Stella Reid.

At his house, Cartman is playing on his Xbox 360 when Nanny Stella arrives along with a camera crew. She promptly annoys Cartman by taking away his Xbox , so he gets revenge by bullying her by asking her why she didn't have kids of her own, because she was ugly and how she's getting too old to have kids of her own. Angered and upset, she marches out.

Supernanny works even less, with her ending up in a mental institute feeding on her own feces. Liane asks the surgeon treating Supernanny what else she can do, and he recommends another show; The Dog Whisperer.

When Cesar Millan turns up, he instantly makes an impact on Cartman, who is angered so much he runs away from home.

Looking for a place to stay, Stan, Kyle, Kenny, Butters, Jimmy and Craig turn him down and he is forced to stay in an alleyway in the rain while they play Xbox.

He returns, and is angered to see Cesar Milan is still there. Cartman begins to behave soon and realizes he's changing for the worse (as he sees it). He devises a plan to kill his mother but Stan, Kyle, Kenny and Butters will not help.

That night, Cartman prepares to go ahead with his plan, but suffers a strange experience that convinces him the changes are for the best. When Liane comes down to breakfast, Cartman is going over his homework and eating a healthy meal. Cesar pays a final visit, and Liane asks him if he wants to see Madama Butterfly with her, but he explains she is just a client, and he has other work to be getting on with. Liane is disheartened and invites Cartman, promising to buy him a Mega Ranger, he asks if he could have two and Liane says he can have whatever he wants, returning Cartman to his normal ways...

Trivia

  • There is a clip from "The Passion of the Jew" in this episode.
  • Once again Craig says he hates Cartman.
  • Due to the events of Scott Tenorman Must Die, during which Cartman killed Scott Tenorman's parents and cooked them into chili, Cartman's evil behavior reached a level difficult to top by writers.  As such, the events of this episode appears to be a device called Deus ex machina in which to reduce Cartman to a slightly more managable level of evil, thus making it easier for the writing staff.
  • Cartman is shown as left-handed here.
  • Kyle, Stan, and Kenny don't want to be friends of Cartman, instead they choose Butters.
  • Cartman is still trying to apologize to his classmates.
  • At the start, when Cartman says that he is sorry he chained Billy Turner's Ankle to a flag pole, said he poisoned his lunchmilk, gave him a hacksaw and told him that the only way he could reach the antidote in time would be to cut through his ankle, is a reference to Saw.
  • After Cartman is leaving his mother's room, he stumbles around the hallway and appears to take on different physical appearances. The transformations closely resemble the final scene in Ken Russell's Altered States. The scene involves Dr. Jessup [William Hurt] fighting off an "altered state" of physical being. During this struggle, he repeatedly throws himself back and forth between the walls of a hallway while his physical shape changes. A dead giveaway to this reference is both Cartman and Dr. Jessup appear to have complexions that sporadically change to something that resembles the static from a TV without a signal.
  • Cartman's apperance is slightly altered after his mother begins to displining him. Although subtle, his body becomes somewhat more thin than normal, more in-tune with the normal child body type.
