"True Freaks Union" is a song sung by the union of the same name in the Season Six episode "Freak Strike". The public service video and song parody the real PSA from International Ladies Garment Workers Union (ILGWU).
The True Freaks Union, comprising of people with weird deformities, is angry that TV shows that used to feature them are focusing on other groups instead, as they depend on TV shows for their income. They organize a strike outside the building where the Maury Povich show is ongoing. They hijack the TV studio's screen to screen a public service video and sing this song. Their message is that they - the real freaks - should not lose their only means of employment to the non-real freaks - those who are only freaks because they are idiots. In the song, they tell the audience to find the "True Freak Label" on talk shows. Butters Stotch, with balls on his chin, sings the first line solo. Upon watching the video, most of Maury Povich's audience agree with the freaks and leave the studio. Maury is then obliged to come out and negotiate with the freaks, signaling the success of their strike.
Butters: Look for the True Freak label
All the Freaks: When you are watching a TV talk show
Remember somewhere, our union's growing
Our wages going to feed the kids.
And run the house-
We work hard, but who's complaining?
With TFU we're making our way!
So always look for the True Freak label,
Because you need us right here in the U.S.A.!
