Trivia

  • The document that one of the Japanese Sony employees holds during the meeting reads: "日本のProjected Serusu", which translates to Nihon no Projected Serusu or "Japan's Projected Sales".
  • The slogan at the bottom of Red Robin's logo reads "#1 Burger Joint in the USA".
  • All the tables inside Red Robin have Towering Onion Rings, Bottomless Steak Fries and Red Robin Seasoning, items the restaurant is well known for.
  • During the live action scene, when people are shown rushing into stores, major retails stores Target and Best Buy can be clearly seen.
  • One of the bodies near the cash register at EV Games has a Guitar Hero controller piercing his neck.
  • When Randy is walking out of the mall after the Black Friday chaos, he appears to have a Visios 60 in. television in hand.
  • Kenny is shown to have the ability to disarm and defeat armed men just by using his cute appearance as a Japanese Princess.
  • This is the first time Cartman gets one of the other boys in trouble on purpose, he does this by defacating in the old man's garden which Stan gets blamed for and as a result gets grounded for it.
  • This is the first episode since "Bloody Mary" to air in December.
  • In the anime portion of this episode, Princess Kenny was able to speak Japanese without her voice being muffled.
  • The stores that can be seen inside the South Park Mall in this episode include:

References to Popular Culture

  • This episode concludes the Game of Thrones/Black Friday story arc.
  • The episode title references Dungeons & Dragons, and alludes to the often gratuitous sexual content of Game of Thrones.
  • "Red Robin Wedding" references Game of Thrones infamous Red Wedding.
  • The Princess Kenny scenes are in an anime style and strangely enough, most of the dialog was done in Japanese rather than English. While the episode itself doesn't contain English Subtitles, the Script for this episode translates the Japanese Dialog.
  • Cartman complains that it was hard to know what the plot of Prometheus was about.
  • Cartman claims that Tom Hanks and Beyoncé are getting married at Red Robin.
  • Bill Gates's tattoos read:
  • The delayed release of South Park: The Stick of Truth is again referenced.
    • The ending of the episode may hint to lead directly into the events of The Stick of Truth.
  • The music that plays as the boys walk through the destroyed mall is "O Tannenbaum.", from A Charlie Brown Christmas.
  • In the scene where Kenny reads a letter from Cartman, Cartman's anime form looks similar to General Iroh from Avatar: The Last Airbender.
  • Two of the Sony employees, the male with glasses and the female in the red pant suit, have a similar look to Gendo Ikari and Misato Katsuragi from the anime series, Neon Genesis Evangelion.
  • After Princess Kenny jumps out the window and lands on the pavement, one of the onlookers has a similar look to Naota Nandaba from the anime series FLCL, which had previously paid homage to South Park in an episode entitled "Brittle Bullet".

Continuity

  • During the Previously on South Park segment, a scene from "Taming Strange" is shown.
  • Alana Thompson and her mother June Shannon can be seen briefly in the opening sequence of this episode, as well as the previous one.
  • The fat woman who yells, "KISS MY FAT VAGINA!!", during the mall battle, was last seen in "Black Friday", making the same threat on live television.
  • The man who murdered Cap is once again seen, cutting George R.R. Martin's penis off. He insults him, calling him a, "Wiener-loving bitch!", referencing his obsession with wieners.

Goofs

  • They boys should not have been able to get the deal on the Xbox One, since they were actually the last ones to get into the mall. Although it's possible that most to all customers died by getting slaughtered before the boys bought their XBox Ones and Randy bought the High Definition TV.
  • The interviewed waiting man at the beginning of the episode claims that a Blu Ray Player 96% off will be about 20 dollars which means he believes Blu Ray Players cost around $500. Blu Ray Players do not cost more than 200 or even 100 dollars.
  • During the meeting at Sony, when the President says "Taihen. Kono Console Wars mada owaranai" ["This is bad.The Console Wars aren't over yet"], the voice of the chubby male is heard saying "Sou desu" ["That's correct"] and the President looks to his right. Yet the chubby male is shown sitting next to the President on his left side and his mouth didn't move at all. In the following scene, its implied that the chubby male is now sitting at the opposite far end of the table and already had a sign about the projected console sales in Japan in his hand.
  • When Princess Kenny jumps out the window, her right "pigtail" is missing.
  • In the Red Robin scene where the "wedding" starts, Cartman and Clyde's voices are deeper than usual.
  • When Randy Marsh opens the door from Red Robin into the mall, this should physically have been impossible because Stan Marsh put a chain and a lock on the door from the inside moments earlier.

Kenny's Death

  • In an attempt to fly, Princess Kenny jumps out the window and accidentally kills herself. However, she is quickly revived with the powers of cuteness and flies away to attend the Red Robin Wedding.
