Trivia[]

  • The document that one of the Japanese Sony employees holds during the meeting reads: "日本のProjected Serusu", which translates to Nihon no Projected Serusu or "Japan's Projected Sales".
  • The slogan at the bottom of Red Robin's logo reads "#1 Burger Joint in the USA".
  • All the tables inside Red Robin have Towering Onion Rings, Bottomless Steak Fries and Red Robin Seasoning, items the restaurant is well known for.
  • During the live action scene, when people are shown rushing into stores, major retails stores Target and Best Buy can be clearly seen.
  • Xbox One "winning" in this episode is quite ironic. In real life, Xbox One, while still popular, had a very disastrous reveal in May 2013 (involving things like Kinect privacy concerns and focusing on multimedia capabilities) that it never quite recovered from while PlayStation 4 ended up becoming the fifth best-selling console of all time.
  • One of the bodies near the cash register at EV Games has a Guitar Hero controller piercing his neck.
  • When Randy is walking out of the mall after the Black Friday chaos, he appears to have a Visios 60 in. television in hand.
  • Kenny is shown to have the ability to disarm and defeat armed men just by using his cute appearance as a Japanese Princess.
  • This is the first episode to air in December since "Bloody Mary" in 2005.
  • In the anime portion of this episode, Princess Kenny was able to speak Japanese without her voice being muffled.
  • The stores that can be seen inside the South Park Mall in this episode include:

References to Popular Culture[]

  • This episode concludes the Game of Thrones/Black Friday story arc.
  • The episode title references Dungeons & Dragons, and alludes to the often gratuitous sexual content of Game of Thrones.
  • "Red Robin Wedding" references Game of Thrones infamous Red Wedding.
  • The Princess Kenny scenes are in an anime style and strangely enough, most of the dialog was done in Japanese rather than English. While the episode itself doesn't contain English Subtitles, the Script for this episode translates the Japanese Dialog.
  • Cartman complains that it was hard to know what the plot of Prometheus was about.
  • Cartman claims that Tom Hanks and Beyoncé are getting married at Red Robin.
  • Bill Gates's tattoos read:
  • The ending of the episode leads directly into the events of South Park: The Stick of Truth. The game was originally intended to be available around the same time the episodes aired, but multiple development issues impeded its release until March of the following year. Butters' final comment mocks this delayed release.
  • The music that plays as the boys walk through the destroyed mall is "O Tannenbaum", from A Charlie Brown Christmas.
  • In the scene where Kenny reads a letter from Cartman, Cartman's anime form looks similar to General Iroh from Avatar: The Last Airbender.
  • Two of the Sony employees, the male with glasses and the female in the red pant suit, have a similar look to Gendo Ikari and Misato Katsuragi from the anime series, Neon Genesis Evangelion.
  • After Princess Kenny jumps out the window and lands on the pavement, one of the onlookers has a similar look to Naota Nandaba from the anime series FLCL, which had previously paid homage to South Park in an episode entitled "Brittle Bullet".

Continuity[]

  • During the Previously on South Park segment, a scene from "Taming Strange" is shown.
  • Alana Thompson and her mother June Shannon can be seen briefly in the opening sequence of this episode, as well as the previous one.
  • The fat woman who yells, "KISS MY FAT VAGINA!!", during the mall battle, was last seen in "Black Friday", making the same threat on live television.
  • The man who murdered Cap is once again seen, cutting George R. R. Martin's penis off. He insults him, calling him a, "Wiener-loving bitch!", referencing his obsession with wieners.

Goofs[]

  • The boys should not have been able to get the deal on the Xbox One, since they were actually the last ones to get into the mall.
    • It's possible that so many customers died in the Black Friday carnage that the boys were among the first 30 to purchase items.
  • The interviewee at the beginning of the episode states that a Blu-ray player at 96% off will cost him about 20 dollars, which means he believes Blu-ray players cost around $500. Blu-ray players did cost this much when they were new technology (circa 2006) but were only 100-200 dollars when this episode first aired.
  • When Princess Kenny is handed a letter at the Sony Corporation by a female secretary, the secretary's upper-arm is clearly missing as the letter changes hands.
  • During the meeting at Sony, when the President says "Taihen. Kono Console Wars mada owaranai" ("This is bad.The Console Wars aren't over yet"), the voice of the chubby male is heard saying "Sou desu" ("That's correct") and the President looks to his right. Yet the chubby male is shown sitting next to the President on his left side and his mouth didn't move at all. In the following scene, its implied that the chubby male is now sitting at the opposite far end of the table and already had a sign about the projected console sales in Japan in his hand.
  • When Princess Kenny jumps out the window, her right "pigtail" is missing.
  • In the Red Robin scene where the "wedding" starts, Cartman and Clyde's voices are deeper than usual, likely due to a pitch-shift editing error.
  • Randy Marsh opens the door to Red Robin from the mall side, but Stan Marsh had just chained and locked it from the inside moments earlier.
  • Just before Bill Gates and The Sony President fight, the president has a wooden sword in his hand and says "Ikimashou" ("Let's go"). But once Bill Gates is completely shirtless, the sword has disappeared.
  • When the Sony President says "Then let this be your last fight, Bill Gates", the sleeves from his white dress shirt can be seen through his suit jacket covering his wrist. As soon as he removes the jacket, his dress shirt sleeves have somehow been rolled up to his elbow.
  • After the boys leave Red Robin, one of the first bodies they walk past is a bearded man with his tongue hanging out and wearing an orange beanie and scarf, leaning on the wall. As they walk past Radio Hut, the same body is seen again, but with a blue beanie and green scarf leaning on a computer. Once they make it to the second floor, the body is seen again, with the orange beanie and scarf, leaning on a computer. Finally, as Randy escapes from the mall with his television, the body is seen out in the parking lot wearing the blue beanie and green scarf, leaning on a computer.

Kenny's Death[]

  • In an attempt to fly, Princess Kenny jumps out the window and accidentally kills herself. However, she is quickly revived with the powers of cuteness and flies away to attend the Red Robin Wedding.
