The Tale of Scrotie McBoogerballs is a fictional and disgusting book written by the boys, but claimed as the work of Butters Stotch, in "The Tale of Scrotie McBoogerballs".

After reading The Catcher in the Rye, the boys are disgusted by how completely unoffensive the book is, despite Mr. Garrison's claims to the contrary. In response, they write the most vulgar book they can imagine, in the hopes that the book will be a true offensive book that will be banned. Cartman originally called it "McDickinass" in place of the last name "McBoogerballs", suggested by Kenny. When the parents discover the book, the boys, rather than take credit for the creation, claim that Butters wrote the book while he was sleepwalking. However, the parents love the book and help Butters get the book published, which then becomes a global success.

Despite the fact the book was written as nothing more than vulgarity for the sake of being vulgar, readers seem to over-analyze the book, claiming that it has a deeper meaning than the boys intended. The book's disturbing subject matter however still causes the reader to vomit before even getting past the first sentence of the first paragraph of the first chapter. A key component of the book is Sarah Jessica Parker, whose apparent ugly appearance is described or referenced exactly 465 times throughout the story.

The book is later turned into a game show, in which participants attempt to see how long they can hear the audio recording of the book without throwing up. In order to get back on Butters for claiming the book as his own, Cartman and Kenny kill Sarah Jessica Parker, in the hopes that it will cause the book to be banned like The Catcher in the Rye.

Butters meanwhile writes a sequel to the story, The Poop That Took a Pee. This book causes a man to kill the Kardashians, in return causing the general public to turn their back on Butters, who they believe to be the books' author. As a result, both books were banned.
