Trivia

• Bill Gates is seen with a bullet hole with a bandage on it on his head. This is as a result of being shot in the head in South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut.
  • It is unknown as to how Bill Gates survived such a wound. However, he could have been revived via Kenny's wish, or he merely survived.
  • Bill Gates was shot in the face, but his face is unscathed.
• John Travolta is an avid pilot with his own personal planes. As such his support of Garrison's new vehicle, IT, and his dislike of airports is rather ironic.
• A rotating vehicle, similar to Mr. Garrison's, later appeared in the 2012 movie Men In Black 3.
• Upon meeting Cousin Kyle at the airport, Sheila refers to Gerald as Jerry. This is the second time someone does this, the first being Randy in "Two Guys Naked in a Hot Tub".
• Ike's "I todd a nurra" is repeated from Season 1's "Mecha-Streisand".
• Before Mr. Garrison officially releases IT, viewers can clearly see the way IT is steered by hitting the pause button when Mr. Garrison drives IT past the boys and several other people.
• According to audio commentary for the episode, the IT was actually based on the Segway and the hype surrounding it before its release. Matt and Trey also mention that they bought some Segways for the South Park studio, got bored with them after one use, and eventually broke them while attempting to jump with them.
• Mr. Garrison reveals that he possesses a master's degree in mechanical engineering from Denver Community College.

References to Popular Culture

• When Mr. Garrison counts the money, he sings the song "The Gold Diggers' Song (We're In The Money)".
• In the creator commentary for this episode, Trey Parker and Matt Stone mentioned that Kyle Schwartz and his need to eat fish at the dinner table was partially based on radio talk show host Dennis Prager. They had previously worked with Prager on his short film, For Goodness Sake II in 1996.
• Pop singer Enrique Iglesias can be seen on Mr. Garrison's television.
• In the audience at Mr. Garrison's presentation, the notable guests in front are business owners Ted Turner, Donald Trump, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and Steve Forbes, along with actress Yasmine Bleeth.
  • Yasmine Bleeth had previously worked with Trey Parker and Matt Stone in the film BASEketball in 1998, while her drugged-out appearance in this episode is a reference to her arrest in 2001 where she was found with syringes and cocaine in her car and hotel room.
• The scene with the two old ladies at the Grand Canyon with the narrator asking them how they got to the Grand Canyon is a reference to the Hoveround wheelchair commercials in which two old ladies got to the Grand Canyon with them.

Continuity

• Despite Kyle Schwartz calling the boys douchebags and saying he probably would not come back, he comes back in the last episode of Season Six, "Red Sleigh Down", helping Cartman add up his naughty and nice points for presents from Santa. He also comes back again in the Season Nine episode "The Losing Edge", to help them "win" the baseball game, and later returns as “Human Kite From An Alternate Universe” in South Park: The Fractured But Whole.
• Bill Gates is seen with a bandage on his head; this is a reference to when he was shot in the head by General Plymkin in South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut.
• This is the last time that Mr. Garrison speaks with Mr. Hat until "200".

Goofs

• In the scene at the IT company building, Randy Marsh's shirt is purple, instead of its usual light blue.
• Kyle Schwartz is shown entering Mr. Garrison's backyard through the gate during the presentation of IT to the investors but is never shown again.
• Mr. Garrison claims to have a master's degree from Denver Community College, but community colleges only offer associate degrees and certification.

Kenny's Death

• Shot by the airport security guard when he finds nail clips.

• Instead of being referred to as "Kyle Two" by his mother, Kyle Broflovski is being referred to as "Also Kyle".
• The airport clerk's offers for a window or aisle seat is replaced where she asks Mr. Garrison, "Would you like to sit with Gina Wild or Paolo Pinkel?". Both names are aliases of German actress Michaela Schaffrath and politician Michel Friedman respectively.

Hungarian

• When Kyle's cousin meets Cartman for the first time, he comments on Cartman's sweater that it might have been imported from China.
• When Cartman approaches Kyle at the school playground, Cartman claims that he had now "understood" why he should not have said "concentration camp" in class, or he would be labelled as a Nazi.
• Yasmine Bleeth is given a made-up name of "Boglárka Kovács".
• When Kyle's cousin discovers that Kyle had made a bet with Cartman, he comments that Kyle should have tried something else.
• The echoing effects from the elderly women at the Grand Canyon are not present.

Japanese

Mandarin Chinese

• Kyle's cousin's origins are established to be in the Miaoli County, situated in west Taiwan.
• Kyle offers NT$2,000 for Cartman to not make fun of his cousin.
• The deal is broken when Cartman taunts "Give him five dollars and he'll shut up." Subsequently when Cartman approaches Kyle at the school playground, Cartman claims he had no idea that "Buddhists are stingy," and even thinks that he and Kyle's cousin may be related since "his mother used to sleep with so many people," referencing the events surrounding "Cartman's Mom is Still a Dirty Slut".
