• Herbert Garrison and Hilary Clinton's debate is a reference to the presidential debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, which took place 2 days prior to the episode airing.
• The way Gerald Brofloviski covered up his trolling could be a nod to how Hillary Clinton covered up her illegal unauthorized private email server. Both deleted something and smashed their phones with a hammer.
• M Burgers is a parody of the restaurant McDonald's.

Continuity

• During Mr. Garrison's president campaign, he mentions his sexual encounter with Allison in "D-Yikes!". 
• M Burgers makes a second appearance since "Cock Magic" when Cartman takes Heidi Turner on a date.
• The note Gerald receives is similar to the note Butters receives in "Professor Chaos".

• Cartman asks Heidi if girls have balls, even though he already discovered they don't in "The List".
