"Take on Me" is a synthpop song by the former Norwegian pop band, A-ha. It was played in Season Six episode, "Asspen".

Background[]

The intro melody of this song was played as the Marsh, Broflovski, and Stotch families were driving to Aspen, Colorado. As they were arriving in Aspen, the passed parody boutique stores, such as Kucci (Gucci), Tiffany's Aspen (Tiffany's), Prahda (Prada), and Bernies (Barney's).

During the credits of the episode, the song was sung by South Park Studios staff member, John Hansen, who also voiced Mr. Slave in future episodes.

Lyrics[]

We're talking away
I don't know what
I'm to say I'll say it anyway
Today's another day to find you
Shying away
I'll be coming for your love, okay?

Take on me (take on me)
Take me on (take on me)
I'll be gone
In a day or two

So needless to say
I'm odds and ends
But I'll be stumbling away
Slowly learning that life is okay
Say after me
It's no better to be safe than sorry

Take on me (take on me)
Take me on (take on me)
I'll be gone
In a day or two
