Trivia

• The promotional trailers for the episode showed Cartman standing behind Tiger Woods during his press conference where Woods states he believed he was allowed to be a sex addict. This does not appear in the episode.
• Elin Nordegren technically never speaks, as all of her speaking roles were during a video game.
• Butters is always referred to as "Bummers" by the counselor.
• This was the first episode in the series to have aired in the 2010s.
• Matthew Klinner, the winner of the "Become a South Park Citizen" sweepstakes, was animated into the opening sequence during the crowd scene specifically for this episode.
• The counselor has the same character model as the mayor of Imaginationland.

References to Popular Culture

• The title of the episode is a reference to the song "Sexual Healing" by Marvin Gaye, which is heard near the end of the episode.
• The events of the video game are references to actual events that occurred involving professional golfer, Tiger Woods and his extramarital affairs during Thanksgiving in November 2009. :
  • His wife, Elin Nordegren accuses him of infidelity after finding text messages on his phone from another woman and confronting her via a phone call, as well as after reading a tabloid story about the affair two days earlier.
  • He had taken the prescription medicine, Vicodin shortly before the crash.
  • He sheers a fire hydrant and eventually crashes his SUV into a tree at 2:25am, a short distance from his Florida mansion after his wife had chased him out of their house with a golf club and smashed the back window of his SUV.
  • He eventually loses endorsements from several companies.
  • Elin renegotiates their prenup before eventually filing for divorce in 2010.
  • He held a press conference to apologize to his family and fans for his actions.
• During the scientists' meeting, a possible reason to why everyone is being a sex addict is that their water supply is infected. This is a reference to the film The Crazies.
• One soldier in Obama's strike force says, "I have a bad feeling about this," which is a reference to the Star Wars movies, where several characters including Han Solo, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Luke Skywalker say that line, whenever something feels weird.
• Kenny's death is a reference to martial arts actor David Carradine's death in 2009 and INXS's lead singer Michael Hutchence's death in 1997, as both died from apparent autoerotic asphyxiation. They are even mentioned by name when the doctor explains how the boys might die.
• The poem being read at Kenny's funeral is called "Crossing The Bar", written by Alfred, Lord Tennyson in 1889.
• This was the first and only episode that Ben Roethlisberger was in.

Continuity

• Kenny already learned about the high one gets from choking one's self from Mr. Mackey, during "Major Boobage". However, this is the first time he associated sex with it.
• This is President Barack Obama's second major appearance, the first being "About Last Night...".
• Michelle Obama is also seen, with her "husband".
• This is the second time that monkeys are used as test subjects, the first time being in "Pee".
• Every time the men claim that normal men don't obsess over sex, or claim a bizarre reason for why men behave that way, they look shifty-eyed toward a woman near them, presumably their wives, as if to gauge whether their story is being bought. Randy explains to Stan that it's the right way to lie in "Pinewood Derby".
  • This is also a distinct deviation from the rather obvious clues that all or most of the men had seen or at least heard of the pornographic video, Backdoor Sluts 9, back in The Return of the Fellowship of the Ring to the Two Towers. Instead, when any person comes forward to suggest that they should take responsibility, they enact the "turd in the punch bowl" defense.

Goofs

• Ted, the man who died in "Night of the Living Homeless", appeared at Kenny's funeral.
• In the shown part of the picture, the lady's arms are off the picture. This means there wouldn't be a hankerchief in her hands that is shown. Although her right arm is off shot and the image cuts off above the breasts so her hand could be in shot lower down the image.
• When its first shown Cartman and Stan playing Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 Cartman is playing as Tiger Woods but is shown changing the clubs for his wife's character.
• When Tiger Woods gets into his car, the front of his car has a Florida tag, however, cars registered in Florida do not need a front license plate.
• Butters claims he's never seen a woman naked. However, in "Do the Handicapped Go to Hell?", he claimed he has. Also, in "The Return of the Fellowship of the Ring to the Two Towers", he mistakenly watched Backdoor Sluts 9, the most hardcore porn in existence, thinking it was Lord Of The Rings. He might've just forgotten those incidents or he might've thought that it was Lord of the Rings creatures (elves etc.), not human woman.

Kenny's Death

After the doctor implies Kenny, Kyle and Butters are fated to die via auto-erotic asphyxiation, which involves hanging one's self while wearing a costume, and mentions the idea of an 'awesome orgasm', Kenny hangs himself from his closet door with a belt while dressed as Batman and masturbating, only to be discovered by his mother at dinnertime. His death plays a role in the episode, driving Butters and Kyle to insanity at his funeral, worried they could end up like him.

Visitors

• The hood and hatch emblems on Tiger Woods' vehicle, seen in the opening scene, resembles a visitor with red eyes.
