Trivia[]

References to Popular Culture[]

  • When Stan joins the Goth Kids, he wears a T-shirt with Edgar Allen Poe's face on it with the word "nevermore" above. His goth name is also Raven, a reference to one of Poe's poems.
  • When Stan is looking over the bridge and into the water, it is a reference to Charlie Brown.
  • The scene in which Stan holds the boom box playing "Shock the Monkey" is a reference to the 1989 film Say Anything... In the actual film, the song used was "In Your Eyes," another Peter Gabriel song.
  • The restaurant Raisins is modeled after a real sports pub franchise in the USA called Hooters.
  • Henrietta mentions missing out on the Skinny Puppy concert, referring to the Canadian electro-industrial band.
  • In Henrietta's room, there are posters for "Skippy Puppy", which is a parody of Skinny Puppy's EP, Remission and "Blauhouse", a parody of the goth band, Bauhouse and their compilation album, Bauhaus 1979–1983.
  • The Raisins soundtrack includes "Don't Know What You Got (Till It's Gone)" by Cinderella, "All Out of Love" by Air Supply, "YMCA" by The Village People, "Shock the Monkey" by Peter Gabriel and James Brown's "Living in America".

Continuity[]

  • When Stan leaves the goth kids he uses Cartman's old catchphrase, "Screw you guys, I'm going home!". He has used this phrase before in "Are You There God? It's Me, Jesus".
  • This is both Wendy and Bebe's only major appearance in this season, as well as Wendy's only speaking appearance in the season.
  • When Stan mentions that he has not spoken to Wendy for weeks, he could be referring to how Wendy mentioned that she has not been hanging out with Stan for a while in "Bebe's Boobs Destroy Society".

Goofs[]

  • Outside gym class, Kenny can be seen hood up and gloves on, but his parka's sleeves are missing.
  • When Butters gets dumped, Jason can be seen talking in the background. However, he is at a table on his own, so he would have been talking to nobody.
  • In the shot at the start, there is a duplicate of Millie.
  • In the scene where Butters talks to Lexus on the phone, when the outside of the building is shown, it is daytime, but during the scenes of Butters talking on the phone, it is nighttime.
