  • In the commentary for this episode, Matt Stone and Trey Parker said that this episode was originally going to be an hour-long special about Randy finding a dinosaur fossil with a gun, leading him to the realization that the dinosaurs had fought each other to extinction. After Randy successfully brings about world peace by convincing everyone to get rid of their weapons, an alien gangster is able to easily take over the Earth with a single revolver. However, before this concept could be completed, they were informed that this was similar in premise to an episode of The Simpsons--the episode in question likely being "Treehouse of Horror II".
