Paladin Butters is the fantasy alter ego of Butters Stotch. He appears throughout Season Seventeen's Black Friday trilogy, consisting of "Black Friday", "A Song of Ass and Fire", and "Titties and Dragons". In South Park: The Stick of Truth, he is the merciful paladin of the Kingdom of Kupa Keep and is also the starting one of the six playable Buddies.
Appearance[]
Butters wears a long turquoise robe with the sides sewn, a yellow shield in the center, and a rope tied across. He also wears navy-blue shoulder epaulets, yellow rubber gloves, a gold headband with a red (sometimes purple) jewel centered under his hair, a blue cape, and at some point wore blue pants under his robe. His weapon is a mallet with a heavy mallet head and a wooden handle, it is named "Butters' Hammer of Storms", which can be looted from him. In South Park: Phone Destroyer, his card art shows he's holding a large bronze mallet with detail and blue magic.

- Paladin Butters is inspired by the Son of Odin and the God of Thunder, Thor.
- He was also taken inspiration from fantasy style MMORPG such as World of Warcraft.
- He and Ranger Stan Marshwalker have added details on their current outfits, such as his coat being a robe.
- His hammer can be looted after defeating him in his battle if you side with the Drow Elves during "Attack the School".
- In South Park: The Stick of Truth, he says "I'm ashamed I ever had a secret crush on you Princess Kenny"
- The color of the jewel in Paladin Butters' headband is inconsistent. The jewel is colored purple In all gameplay sections of South Park: The Stick of Truth. It is instead colored red in the Black Friday episodes, in some South Park: The Stick of Truth cutscenes, and in South Park: The Fractured But Whole.
