  • This is the first episode since "Grounded Vindaloop" not to feature Randy Marsh.
  • Stan and Kenny do not appear in this episode, though they do appear in Kyle's flashbacks of the pictures on the wall from Heidi's emoji analysis.
  • The music played during Mr. Garrison's scenes is a mixture of the songs, "The Imperial March (Darth Vader's Theme)" and "Hail to the Chief".
  • Elon Musk, who is a fan of the show, voiced himself in this episode. He was previously voiced by Matt Stone in "Handicar".
  • In each instance SpaceX has been seen from the outside, the cars in the parking lot and their positions remain constant. SpaceX was last seen in "Oh, Jeez".

References to Popular Culture[]

  • The big screen inside "Diplomat and Strategy negotiation room" appears to be based on the video game DEFCON, in which players control an alliance leading up to and during an all-out nuclear war.
  • The UK Foreign Secretary bears a close resemblance to the real Foreign Secretary, Boris Johnson.
  • When Cartman and Heidi are at SpaceX and notice the other people waiting to go to Mars, singer Cher is one of the people there. This is a reference to an actual comment the singer made during the 2016 presidential election, claiming that she would be leaving the planet if Donald Trump won the election.
  • When Caitlyn Jenner checks on Mr. Garrison at Tom's Rhinoplasty, he is shown from the back sitting in a chamber, as his toupee is being put on his head by a mechanical claw and then turns around to face her. The scene is a reference to the Star Wars movie The Empire Strikes Back involving Darth Vader and his meditation chamber.
  • Inside Tom's Rhinoplasty, a portrait of actor David Hasselhoff is prominently hanging in the lobby. Mr. Garrison previously had his face reconstructed to look like David Hasselhoff in "Tom's Rhinoplasty".
  • Butters mentions the film 9 to 5, a 1980 comedy film about 3 female office employees who team up to get even and overthrow their lying, sexist male boss.
  • The song played during the memberberries scene at the private club and later again at the White House is "Sing Sing Sing" by Benny Goodman.
  • The member berry who was thrown into Caitlyn Jenner's drink was named Mickey. This is a joke referring to a Mickey (or a Mickey Finn); a drink laced with a psychoactive drug or an incapacitating agent.
  • Moments before Gerald calls Ike, Ike can be seen playing Watch Dogs 2 on his computer.
