• The lack of spectators for the girl's volleyball team games returns from Season 18's "Cock Magic", with the gym quickly emptied out after the pledge is over, with very few people viewing the actual game.
• Butters appears to have made a full recovery from the injuries he received in "Safe Space".
• A new preschool teacher is seen, suggesting Ms. Claridge has either been fired or quit.

References to Popular Culture

• The revised national anthem mocks the controversy regarding NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick's refusal to stand during the national anthem at his football games in protest of police brutality towards African-Americans.
• J.J. Abrams' skill at "rebooting" franchises is mentioned, as seen with Star Trek and Star Wars. However, his reboot of the anthem is identical to the original, referencing a wide criticism that Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens had many elements shared with the original Star Wars trilogy (1977-1983).
• Cartman's shirt, Token's Life Matters, is a parody of the Black Lives Matter movement.
• Mr. Garrison's role in politics parallels Donald Trump's presidential campaign, including his spray-tan.
• Mr. Garrison and Caitlyn Jenner listen to "Cake by the Ocean" by DNCE when they celebrate being ahead in the polls.

• Bebe has a minor speaking role, her first after two seasons.

Goofs

• Cartman is shown to still believe that girls have testicles, despite having already concluded they don't in "The List".
• When Gerald grins evilly as he begins his night of trolling, his beard clips into his mouth.
• When Heidi says "He's lying. Make him show you his phone." in PC Principal's office, she says it in Wendy's voice.
• When Randy is eating Memberberries in his house, the wall is colored brown instead of the usual purple, resembling the living room of the Testaburger Residence.
  • Although this may have been intentional to avoid the Memberberries blending in with the wall.
