Medicinal Fried Chicken is a medical marijuana store in South Park, which replaced the town's KFC in the episode of the same name. It is also a location in South Park: The Fractured But Whole.
Background[]
In the eponymous episode "Medicinal Fried Chicken", the town's former Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant is replaced by an unidentified weed dispensary in the same building upon the legalization of medical marijuana and ban on fried chicken in low income areas. After the men of South Park (led by Randy Marsh) purposely give themselves testicular cancer in order to get medical marijuana, the state reaches the conclusion that due to the sudden rise after KFC closed, Kentucky Fried Chicken must be a deterrent for testicular cancer and have medicinal qualities. Thus, the KFC is rebranded as Medicinal Fried Chicken and reopened.
South Park: The Fractured But Whole[]
The store makes another appearance in South Park: The Fractured But Whole, having returning to selling marijuana. It is a location related to the game's main story, where The New Kid goes to pick up a medication for Classi as part of a quest. There, they encounter a sober Towelie in deep withdrawal, and must make him stoned. It is shown to have a complex security system that cannot be bypassed until the player unlocks TimeFart Pause and uses it to turn off the alarm.
Trivia[]
- Medicinal Fried Chicken is based on Kind for Cures in Los Angeles. Now closed, Kind for Cures had purchased a building previously occupied by a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant and purposefully named their store after the initials of KFC.
