Lorde is Randy Marsh's alter-ego during Season Eighteen's episode's "Gluten Free Ebola", "The Cissy", "Handicar" (out of costume), "Freemium Isn't Free" (alluded to), and "#REHASH".

Background

Lorde's first appearance was at the end of "Gluten Free Ebola" singing at the Boys' backyard party.

In "The Cissy", his story is expanded showing how Randy dresses as a woman in order to use the woman's toilet between lunch breaks. He found his voice sounds good while singing in the bathroom and accidentally became a pop singer. His image was marketed as a 17 year old girl from New Zealand but in reality is a 45 year old geologist in Colorado. The money he earned from his songs is hidden away in behind a wall in the garage. Stan discovers his father's secret and he shows him how his voice is manipulated with an app on the tablet PC. Stan faints at the discovery.

As Lorde, his most famous song is "Push (Feeling Good on a Wednesday)", actually sung by real life singer and songwriter Sia.

During the events of "The Cissy", a reporter with SPIN magazine named Brandon Carlile arrives in South Park trying to get a story about Lorde. When he discovers the truth, he planned to publish a scandalous story but ends up deleting it after being moved emotionally by the "Push" song.

In the episode "Freemium Isn't Free", his son becomes addicted to the game "Terrance and Philip Give Us Your Money" on his smart phone. He runs up the bill in thousands of dollars and his father has to pay for it with his savings selling Lorde songs.

In the episode "#REHASH", Lorde is asked to play a concert by his record company called "Women of Rock" with Nicki Minaj, Miley Cyrus, Iggy Azalea, and a Michael Jackson hologram. His daughter is a fan of Lorde's and does not know Randy's secret. He plays the concert singing in his own voice and is booed off stage. In an act of desperation, he mimics female masturbation thinking that is what the audience really wants to see anyway.

In the episode #HappyHolograms, Stan reveals to Kyle and Cartman that Lorde is his dad, while Randy reveals it to Shelley. It was said that a hologram of Lorde appeared in the Washington Redskins: Go Fuck Yourself Holiday Special. It isn't clear if Randy kept his Lorde persona, but he probably did.

Appearance

Lorde wears a Cramps tee-shirt depicting the album cover Bad Music for Bad People while being questioned for using the woman's toilet at the USGS geologic centre. During performances, she wears a black dress. The poster has him wearing a blue ringer tee-shirt and black pants.
