Revision as of 08:55, 28 October 2011
The following is a complete list of episodes for the Comedy Central series South Park.
The creators, producers, directors, writers and lead voice actors of South Park -- Trey Parker and Matt Stone --made two short animated films about four boys in 1992 and 1995. The second one became a cult sensation and one of the first viral videos on the internet. Trey and Matt followed its popularity and experimented with the idea of making an entire TV show based on it. From this and a deal with Comedy Central, South Park was born and the first episode aired on August 13th, 1997.
Although the show has continued to be successful even today, it was the during the first few years in the late nineties that it was the most widely-watched, as well as causing the most protest for its vile content. At the peak of its popularity and controversy, the feature-length, theatrical film, "South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut" was released on June 30th, 1999.
The series entered its 15th season on April 27, 2011. Despite some fans' scare from You're Getting Old, the existing Comedy Central contract will continue the series for a 16th and 17th season, lasting until 2013. It is unknown at this time how many episode Seasons 16 and 17 will have.
You can see full-length episodes on the official South Park website. This website provides the highest-quality streaming of South Park on the internet.
The show is also on DVD. Currently, the first 14 seasons are available on DVD in the United States and Australia/New Zealand (as of August 11, 2011) and the first 13 seasons in the Europe. Seasons 12, 13 and 14 are on Blu-ray (which is region-free).
