'''Pajamas Chef''' is Chef's sleepwear alter ego. Its first and only appearance is in "[[The New Terrance and Phillip Movie Trailer]]".
  +

Chef, in his nightwear, appears during one of the multiple attempts The Boys make in trying to view the trailer for ''Asses of Fire 2''. Jerome welcomes the group into his house, showing off his newly purchased plasma television. However, he notes that he has no clue how to actually work the device. Incidentally, while attempting to turn on a feature that allows 3 channels to be played at once, he accidentally activates the "H.E.M" (Human Eradication Mode), which brings the TV to life on a murderous rampage. What's seen of Chef for the remainder of the episode are his attempts at stopping the sentient TV by contacting customer support.

Pajamas Chef is dressed very differently from another robe he wore, seen in "Cartman Gets an Anal Probe". This outfit is a one piece lavender robe that is tied together by an off-color pink waistband. The collar of the robe and ends of the sleeves match the waistband, and Chef wears two darker colored purple slippers. Interestingly, Jerome's toque is a part of this nighttime outfit.

Simpsons Chef does not directly resemble any character from ''The Simpsons'', dissimilar to how Mr. Garrison or Liane Cartman closely resemble Waylon Smither or Lunchlady Doris respectively. Rather, he still possesses the signature overbite and separated eyes that make characters of ''The Simpsons'' unique. He appears the same as Apronless Chef, and has slightly less pronounced facial hair in comparison to his regular design, which can be attributed to the angle at which Chef faces in this alter ego.

"Jerome "Chef" McElroy/Alter Egos" is under construction. Some information may be missing.

This is a list of all of Jerome "Chef" McElroy's alter egos and other costumes.

Main alter egos

These are alter egos that have appeared in more than one episode.

Apronless Chef

Chefpic

Apronless Chef is Chef's appearance without his signature white apron, first appearing in "Cartman Gets an Anal Probe", and in most of his concurrent episode appearances.

Chef, without his apron, is first seen greeting The Boys at the Bus Stop, asking them if they had seen the alien spaceship that passed by South Park. He appears later in the episode, but wearing his apron. Chef is seen in many episodes afterwards, such as "Cartman's Mom is Still a Dirty Slut", where he assists the boys and staff of Hell's Pass Hospital during the snowstorm, and in "Cancelled", where, after realizing he's reliving the events of "Cartman Gets an Anal Probe", helps the boys in uncovering the truth behind the mysterious repetition of events.

Apron Less Chef wears the same outfit as regular Chef: a red short sleeve shirt, blue pants, black shoes, and a white toque on his head that he almost never took off. He wore this outfit for most of his appearances up until his death.

Young Chef

Barn-dance-chef

Young Chef is Jerome's appearance as a young man through the 70s and 80s, before he was employed as chef of South Park Elementary. Young Chef is seen first in "Cartman's Mom is a Dirty Slut".

In a flashback sequence, it is shown that Jerome arrived to South Park with the intention of opening a restaurant. However, on his first night in town, he slept with Liane Cartman. It is unknown why Jerome never opened his restaraunt, as he is later hired by the school. Jerome appears once again in "Chef Aid'. Taking place before his arrival to South Park, it is shown that a young Jerome helped the failing careers of Elton John and Meat Loaf, among other artists.

Young Chef wore a black jacket, his signature red shirt and blue pants, a pair of black platform boots, and sported an afro. He frequently carried a haircomb with him.

Alter egos from Season One

Evel Knievel Chef

Chef-knievel

Evel Knievel Chef is Chef's halloween costume from the Season One episode "Pinkeye". He is dressed as the famous American stunt performer, and is actually the first time he is seen without his toque.

During the events of the episode, Chef can first be seen at school, during lunchtime in full costume. He is initially outraged by Cartman's Adolf Hitler costume, and then is later the first to realize that the pinkeye epidemic has also risen the dead. He harbors the boys during the breakout, and tells Cartman to, "remind me to whoop your ass good the next time I see you", after seeing Eric's replacement "ghost" costume. He survives most of the episode until he is overrun and bitten by zombies at the Morgue. He reverts back to normal once the boys save the day.

The Evel Knievel costume was a little different than the one the real-life stunt performer wore, with Chef donning a white jumpsuit with a large collar, a white belt that had a blue and white star emblem on it, red and blue striped pant legs and armsleeves, long red gloves, and a white helmet with red and blue stripes going down the center, and three white stars running down the blue stripe.

Thriller Chef

Pinkeye-chef

Thriller Chef is Chef's first zombie alter ego, appearing only in "Pinkeye". His outfit is an homage to the outfit Michael Jackson wore in his hit single "Thriller".

Chef, after being bitten by zombies at the Morgue, is instantly transformed into an undead version of himself. Unlike the other pinkeye victims, he does not attack the boys, and instead chooses to sing and choreograph a dance with the zombies. The song is reminiscent of "Thriller", but is naturally spliced in with Chef's trademark dirty lyrics. After the song ends, he can be seen sitting down and reading an issue of Crack Whore Magazine.

Thriller Chef, like other zombies, has pale green skin, red eyes, black rings around his eyes, sunken cheeks, and black moles on his face. He wears an outfit almost exactly like Michael Jackson did in the eponymous video: A red suit with large shoulderblades and black stripes running down the torso, long white socks, black shoes, and curly hair. Chef wears a gray shirt underneath, as opposed to Jackson's black, and still sports his toque.

Braveheart Chef

Braveheart-chef

Braveheart Chef is Chef's alter ego parodying Mel Gibson's 1995 film Braveheart, appearing only once in the episode "Starvin' Marvin".

After Dr. Alphonse Mephesto unwittingly unleashes an army of mutant, evil turkeys on the town, the citizens band together to defend South Park from being overtaken. Chef, now in full warpaint and armor, leads the assault against the enemy turkeys. After a climactic battle against the mutant army, he is one of the citizens who sees Starvin' Marvin off.

Chef's appearance in this alter ego is similar to the eponymous film's main character, William Wallace. The costume gives Chef warpaint, with blue paint on the right side of his face, and white paint on his left. He holds a large, circular wooden shield in his left hand, and wears a yellow toga top over his red shirt, and a traditional plaid kilt that reaches down to his feet. Retroactively, Chef is given Scottish heritage, though it is unknown if this alter ego was considered in revealing that part of the character.

Alter egos from Season Three

Wedding Chef

Wedding-chef

Wedding Chef is a formal alter ego of Chef that appeared only in the episode "The Succubus". It appeared during Jerome's wedding day.

After Chef's relationship with Veronica's blossoms into intimacy, the boys attempt to stop her from driving Chef away from them. Mr. Garrison advises the boys after class that Veronica is most likely a succubus. Alarmed, they go to Chef's house to warn him. At his house, Chef is seen being fitted for a tuxedo (without pants). Thomas and Nellie McElroy reveal to the boys that he has proposed to her, and that they are set to wed soon. At the wedding service, Chef is fully dressed in his new tux, and after the boys play the Succubus's song backwards, she is defeated, and returns to Hell. With the wedding ruined, Chef leaves the service with the boys, promising them ice cream.

Wedding Chef has Jerome wear a seafoam green tuxedo, with a matching bowtie, a purple boutonniere, and a ruffled white shirt underneath. Chef does not remove his toque in this outfit, even during his service, which took place at the church.

Alter egos from Season Four

Kid Chef

YoungChef

Kid Chef is Chef's second flashback alter ego, and appeared only in "The Tooth Fairy Tats 2000" during a story Chef told the boys.

After the boys become involved in Loogie's tooth trade, they quickly become affluent, and begin wearing expensive clothing to school. During lunchtime, Chef gets an eyeful of them, and comments "Well! Look at you cute little crackers!". He mistakenly believes that the boys are dealing drugs, then begins to tell them a story about how he was offered drugs. In the flashback, a young Jerome is walking with his then girlfriend Amanda, and is approached by 3 other boys, who offer him some pot. As a response, kid Chef breaks out into a musical number, singing I Can't Wait Until I Grow Up, which of course, has nothing to do with the situation and is about sex. The flashback is interrupted and Chef is corrected in his assessment of the boys dealing drugs.

Kid Chef looks nearly identical to his adult counterpart, still wearing his red shirt (Now long sleeved), blue pants, and black shoes. He is the same height as the Fourth Grade children, and, despite not being employed as a chef yet, is seen wearing his signature hat.

Abdul Mohammed Jabar Rauf Kareem Ali

Protestor chef

Abdul Mohammed Jabar Rauf Kareem Ali is Chef's alter ego after converting to Islam in "Chef Goes Nanners". This alter ego only appeared in that episode.

Feeling the most passionate on the decision that South Park's flag should be changed, Jerome converts to Islam and changes his name to Abdul Mohammed Jabar Rauf Kareem Ali, deciding that Jerome McElroy and Chef are his slave names. He becomes increasingly inflamed regarding the issue to the point where he quits his job, changes his outfit, and even sets a monk ablaze, reflecting the self-immolation Thich Quang Duc commited in protest of the Vietnam War in 1963. After the debate at the school, Chef realizes that getting wound up over racism almost made him racist. The flag is later changed to its current one, and Chef returns to his job, birth name, and regular clothes.

Chef, as Abdul Mohammed Jabar Rauf Kareem Ali, wore a yellow and orange dashiki with a rhombus and zig-zag motif, the bottom part of it has a strip of magenta with another zig-zag pattern, and its collar was light blue and yellow. His toque was replaced with a matching yellow and orange kufi that had traditional black markings on it.

Alter Egos from Season Six

Pajamas Chef

Pyjamas-chef

Pajamas Chef is Chef's sleepwear alter ego. Its first and only appearance is in "The New Terrance and Phillip Movie Trailer".

Chef, in his nightwear, appears during one of the multiple attempts The Boys make in trying to view the trailer for Asses of Fire 2. Jerome welcomes the group into his house, showing off his newly purchased plasma television. However, he notes that he has no clue how to actually work the device. The collar of the robe and ends of the sleeves match the waistband, and Chef wears two darker colored purple slippers. Interestingly, Jerome's toque is a part of this nighttime outfit.

Simpsons Chef

Alter-egos-simpsons-versions-simpson-chef

Simpsons Chef is Chef's alter ego as a Simpsons character during Butters' hallucination in "The Simpsons Already Did It". It only appears in that episode.

Following a series of failed plans due to comparisons to plotlines featured on The Simpsons, Butters, as Professor Chaos, begins to have a mental breakdown and daydream that the people of South Park are characters from The Simpsons. Chef is among the first two people (The other being Mr. Garrison) to be seen as a Springfield resident in Butters' eyes. Near the end of the episode, Chef helps Butters realize that it doesn't matter if The Simpsons has already done an idea; Pointing out that the Treehouse of Horror VII segment, "The Genesis Tub", was a rip-off of an earlier segment of The Twilight Zone: "The Little People".
