"International Versions of South Park" is under construction. Some information may be missing.

Ever since its first episode in 1997, South Park has been an international success and has been aired all around the world. This page collects all the international versions of South Park.

South Park Dubs

French

South Park has been dubbed into Standard French and Quebec French.

Standard French

The French version was adapted by William Coryn and first aired in July 1998 on Canal+. The show has been dubbed in the studios of Sonodi, Deluxe Dubbing, Dubb4You, Dôme Productions, and currently, Lylo Post Production.

Most of the names aren't changed, the honorifics are translated.

Most of the songs are translated and dubbed, a main exception is the movie.

Voice actors

Mandarin Chinese

The show has been dubbed into Mandarin Chinese up until Season Seven, airing on "Channel V Taiwan" from 1999 to 2005. A majority of the show's contents have been rewritten to cater to Taiwanese audience, alluding to Taiwanese pop culture and politics. The title of the show is "南方四贱客" (Nánfāng sì jiàn kè, lit. "Four jackasses from the South").

With some exceptions such as Wendy, Jimmy Valmer and the Scuzzlebutt, all character names are renamed with some nonsensical taunts instead of being directly translated. For example, Kyle is renamed as 凯子 (kǎi zi, stupid guy) and Stan as 屎蛋 (shǐ dàn, poop), common local names are used for Kenny, renamed to 阿尼 (Ā ní), and parents of the main characters are simply addressed as "their mother/father" (Randy as 屎蛋爸, shǐ dàn bà, Stan's father). Some minor characters would adopt the names of local Taiwanese celebrities.

Songs that are sung by characters in the show, including the theme song, have their lyrics rewritten, albeit using the same tune. Other songs that are played in the background retain the English lyrics.

Voice actors

Cantonese

The show has been dubbed into Cantonese for Season One (with the exception of "Cartman's Mom is a Dirty Slut") and Season Two, including South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut, with Hong Kong actor and cartoonist Cheng Man-Fai as the show's producer. It was aired on Hong Kong's Family Entertainment Channel from 1999 to 2001.

Japanese

There are at least three Japanese dubbings (WOWOW, FOX Japan and Netflix), each with different castings.
