Cartman's mother, Liane, and many of the other adults are worried about her son's weight, so she decides to take Cartman to Hopeful Hills in the hope that he might lose some weight. Throughout the episode, Cartman and the other camp kids do various types of exercise and eat healthier things like soy pudding. The campers, however, were quite sick of not being able to eat any candy, so much so that some of them (including Cartman) try to escape the camp but are caught by a fake ice cream truck, according to one of the campers who tried to escape, they already have been caught several times before.
The counselors, Rick and Susan, realize that no child has lost weight and thought they were doing something wrong, because they did not know that Cartman was selling candy to campers in their dormitories at bedtime. At the end of the episode, parents of all campers (who are also overweight) will pick up their children from Hopeful Hills after realizing that none of them have lost weight. The campers feel guilty and reveal that Cartman was selling candy to the children and that the counselors did nothing wrong, the parents then decide to leave their children at camp, and Cartman also feels guilty and decides to stay too. The counselors forbid Cartman to return to camp because of what he did.
