Synopsis[]

Plot[]
Spoiler warning! Plot details follow. |
Linda Stotch, Stephen Stotch, Gerald Broflovski, and Sheila Broflovski exit the Bijou Cinema. Gerald questions where the Stotches are parked but the Stotches are using Timmy's new business, Handicar. Stephen explains to Gerald that Handicar is a cheaper taxi service as Timmy arrives. Gerald downloads the Handicar app.
The next day, a Russian taxi driver is annoyed by the lack of customers using the taxi service when he sees Handicar in action, infuriating him. At a car dealership, the Hummer Salesman is trying to sell Hummers to people when Timmy picks them up.
In a meeting room, the handicapped kids and the camp counselors are going over the funds for summer camp. Timmy has raised a lot of money. Nathan hates summer camp and doesn't want to go. He hates the singing, the competitions, and Jimmy Valmer getting all the chicks. Mimsy laughs about how he was raped by a shark in "Crippled Summer", further infuriating him. Nathan enlists Mimsy's help to keep Timmy's Handicar business from funding the summer camp.
That night, at the Park County Community Center, the various cab drivers and the Hummer salesman conspire to end Handicar and Nathan helps motivate them.
The cab drivers break into the Burch Residence and 'break' Timmy's legs.
The next day, the cab drivers are shocked to find Handicar still up and running, with Nathan furious at their stupidity.
Nathan calls Timmy later and convinces him to hire others to help cover the Handicar workload. Nathan is hired and tries to sexually harass a woman to put Handicar out of business. The woman turns out to be transvestite who rapes Nathan.
Later, Nathan's plan backfires as there are now many more Handicar workers.
At a Tesla conference, the CEO, Elon Musk, is constantly questioned about Handicar. Somehow, Nathan and Mimsy are looked to for a solution and Nathan suggests a race between Timmy and Elon.
CNN breaks the news that another Wacky Races was upon the world. The adults in South Park clamor for milk and cereal at Food 4 Little. Timmy is unsure of the race but finally decides to race.
In the Wacky Races, Lyft, Zipcar, a Taxi Cab, A Hummer, A Tesla D, The Queef, the Handi Car, a completely automated self-driving car from Japan, and Dick Dastardly and Muttley are competing.
The Tesla D is in the lead, but Nathan tells Elon Musk to slow down because Timmy needs to pick up the passenger and then have her stolen from him. The Lyft car picks up the passenger but the Hummer salesman steals her and allows her to drive the Hummer in order to sell it. Elon destroys the Hummer but whilst trying to get her to the Tesla D, she is stolen once again, this time by the Taxi cab. The Queef driver runs out of queefs to power her vehicle. Dick Dastardly and Muttley cut down a tree, making the Taxi cab and self-driven Japanese car crash. However, the Handicar doesn't crash and picks up the passenger, to Dick Dastardly's surprise.
The Tesla D is on its way to get the Handicar but is overrun by all the other Handicars. Nathan and Mimsy are now using Dick Dastardly and Muttleys's car but Nathan stops to detonate a bomb he thinks is on the Handicar but is rather on the Zipcar. The Zipcar blows up and Matthew McConaughey, who was driving the car, is sucked into a wormhole. The Handicar wins the race.
Timmy has donated $2.3 billion and with summer camp inevitable otherwise, Nathan takes Mimsy's advice and asks his mom to let him stay home. His mom pretends not to understand him and dismisses him. When Nathan's father questions what he said, his mother tells him that Nathan said he did not want to go to summer camp, but "she'll be damned if he's going to ruin their Italy trip."
Critical Reception[]
AV Club gave "Handicar" a "C+" rating saying: "Eighteen seasons in, South Park digs deep into the wellspring of pop culture in order to skew current-day issues. The result is often tack-sharp satire but can easily swerve into senseless, humorless pastiche. “Handicar” lies somewhere in the middle with an extended send-up of Wacky Races, the 1968 animated series featuring Dastardly and Muttley, and a take on the current ride share “controversy,” pitting tech startups like Uber and Lyft against the staid taxi industry."[2]
IGN gave "Handicar" a "5.0" rating saying: "This week's South Park was bogged down with repetitive non-jokes from Nathan and Mimsy, who meekly returned to prominence in "Handicar." While the Wacky Races send-up offered a few humorous moments, Timmy's ridesharing service and all other car-related references fell pretty flat. It also didn't help that none of the boys were in this episode at all."[3]
