  • This episode satirizes several NFL controversies and scandals.
    • The main plot parodies the controversy surrounding the name of the Washington Redskins football team, which many called offensive due to "redskin" being a derogatory slur for Native Americans, and how the trademark on the team's name was not renewed on those grounds in July 2014.
    • There is mention of the scandal regarding Baltimore Ravens player Ray Rice's assault of his wife in an elevator caught on a security camera. The incident itself was be spoofed during the Redskins' raid on the Kickstarter headquarters, where a female employee tries to escape in an elevator, only the scene to cut to the point of view of a security camera revealing a Redskins player about to attack her.
