Movies/TV

  • Star Trek (TOS)- Nomad was a malicious robot in "The Changeling" most of the story after Funnybot starts saying "I am Funnybot" ("I am Nomad") and leading to it being hauled off with antigravs - but he was rehabilitated instead of being beamed (buried) into space in order to explode.
    • Kyle's idea of using a paradox to disable Funnybot is based on a tactic famously used in the Star Trek I, Mudd.
  • Dr. Who - Funnybot has the body of a Dalek and uses the word "Exterminate!" (Nomad used the word "Sterilize!")
  • Star Wars - Funnybot accessing the mainframe to activate the nuclear missiles.
  • Eddie Murphy - (R2-D2)Funnybot's role in "Family Funbot" as the entire family cast is similar to Eddie Murphy in The Nutty Professor where he was the entire Klump family.
  • Tyler Perry - The fact that Token and Barack Obama can't help laughing at Tyler Perry movies is a reference that his movies contain too much African American humor. Furthermore, the scenes of Tyler Perry's character impressions while receiving money were a reference to the criticism of the real Tyler Perry making money off of racist stereotypes.
  • Charlie Sheen - On the wall outside of Funnybot's room, there is a poster showingTwo and a Half Men with the text "One and a Half Men" since Charlie Sheen was sacked off the series.
  • Hawaii 5-0/Reno 911 - Poster of Hawaii 911. One is a police drama in the 1970's the later is a parody of COPS and reality based television.
  • Funnybot's head also resembles Comedy Central's old logo.
  • The way the boys confused Funnybot references the 2011 video game 'Portal 2' in which at one point on character attempts to use a paradox in order to take out the ruling AI. Unfortunately due to the AI's idiocy he fails to realise it is a paradox and is unaffected.
  • Barack Obama's speech concerning Tyler Perry is based on his speech regarding the death of Osama bin Laden, both culminating in the sentence "Justice has been done."
  • In a recent poll (July 2011) Germany was actually voted the least funny country.
  • Murdering or slaying an audience is show business slang for successfully entertaining an audience. To Funnybot, it was literal.
