Freddy Krueger is the serial killer and antagonist of the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise, making three appearances in South Park. He first appears in Imaginationland Episodes II and III within the imagination realm, and again in "Insheeption" as a real character with a different design, refusing to help the government again, not like "that time [he] killed those High School kids to stop the Russians!" (referring to the many High Schoolers he killed in the films) but after they explain innocent lives are at stake he agrees to help, killing Woodsy the Owl to rescue Stan Marsh and Mr. Mackey.
- He Killed Morpheus in Imaginationland.
- Since he appeared in Imaginationland, it was assumed he was a fictional character, but he is a real person in "Insheeption". One theory is since Freddy lives in the dream world, which revolves around imagination, he has access to both realms. Another is that the recent Krueger is the real one, but the one in Imaginationland is the creation from imagination of his myths, as a teen-killing psycopath. This is similar to Cartman's creation of an imaginative version of himself and Kyle, allowing a real version and a imagined version to exist at the same time.
