  • The song sung by the Danish workers at TrollTrace is from the Danish TV Christmas-calendar Alletiders jul from 1994.[1][2]
  • Cartman's daydreams of being on Mars, are inspired by the film, The Martian (2015).
  • When Fort Collins is being taken over after the TrollTrace program is launched, the scene when MLKKK is fleeing his house is an homage, containing many similar elements, to the scene in the beginning Dawn of the Dead (2004), when Ana is fleeing her home after the neighborhood is becoming overrun with the undead.[3]
  • The song "Africa" by Toto is played during the scene where the Memberberries are driving their car.
  • The memberberries holding another memberberry in the back of their car is a reference to the mob film, Goodfellas (1990).
  • The scene where Randy attempts to kill the member berries resulting in the other member berries observing the murdering process from the kitchen counter is a reference to the food massacre scene in the film, Sausage Party (2016).
