The disclaimer for South Park appears at the start of most episodes just before the title sequence.
The disclaimer is a satirical in-joke to the program. It references the facts such as the show using real-life events and people as well as fictional.
The format of the disclaimer has been tweaked slightly over the past few years. It was designed in a different manner for the first two seasons along with half of the third. The disclaimer was later redesigned into a smarter format that is used today.
Season Four's "Pip" did not feature the disclaimer, the movie South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut, and the game South Park: The Stick of Truth did not feature the disclaimer either. Nor did South Park: Snow Day!.
The game South Park: Phone Destroyer features the disclaimer to warn players that the game is not available for everyone as the game uses in-app purchases that costs real money.
"The Pandemic Special" opens with a modified disclaimer with the words "its content" replaced with "COVID-19".
"South ParQ Vaccination Special" opens with another modified disclaimer, this time referencing depictions of people and/or cultures alongside Disney+'s disclaimer shown before episodes of The Muppet Show.
Other Appearances[]
- The disclaimer is also used in the video games, although slightly tweaked.
