Trivia

• As of this episode, the "Gender War" that started in "Wieners Out" seems to have ended, as Stan Marsh and Wendy Testaburger became a couple once again at some point prior to this episode (possibly as early as South Park: The Fractured But Whole)
  • This episode also marks the first time Stan and Wendy have interacted (not counting their future counterparts in the Post-Covid duology or the above-mentioned The Fractured But Whole) since "Oh, Jeez".
• Kyle Broflovski only has two lines in this episode, while Kenny McCormick has none.
• Trey Parker and ChatGPT are credited as the writers of this episode.
• Several of Trey Parker's characters' voices are noticeably raspier in this episode, particularly Cartman's and Mr. Mackey's.
• The first shot of the hallways reuses footage from "Cupid Ye". The shot of the kids walking out of school at the end also reuses footage from "Japanese Toilet".
• The classroom desks are notably more spaced out in this episode. In addition, this is the second time Nichole is seen in Mr. Garrison's class after "Cartman Finds Love" and the first time Betsy is seen in it.
• Lola does not appear in the classroom in this episode.
• This is the third time Bebe has dated Clyde, with the first being Season Two's "Clubhouses" and the second being Season Eleven's "The List".
  • The picture of Clyde in Bebe's phone has him wearing his varsity jacket from "The List", while Wendy and Bebe's pictures feature them posing to be photoshopped from "The Hobbit".
• The background character Bobby Palmer has his first speaking role in this episode. His voice sounds very similar to Clyde's.
• The song which Garrison listens to during Poetry Day recitation carries the German lyrics "Berühre Meinen Körper" (lit. "Touch my body").
• Following Wendy's arrest, Mr. Mackey calls out "Drugs are bad, mmkay?", one of Mackey's popular quotes from Season Two's "Ike's Wee Wee".

References to Popular Culture

• The main theme of the episode is the use of the artificial intelligence chatbot, ChatGPT.
  • As Clyde notes, the system has been used for various purposes such as writing poems, essays, and resumes, translating text into another language, and answering questions, with some schools banning it due to students using it to cheat on tests and assignments.
  • Some have argued that ChatGPT has a liberal bias, as of two of the essays that Mr. Garrison gave a check plus mark to were titled "A Feminist Neoliberal Perspective of Post-War Afghanistan" and "Improving the Rights of Migrant Workers". Later, Stan argues that big tech companies, which have also been accused of having a liberal bias, could take control of Open A.I. and use it to their advantage to decide what is ethical and acceptable, instead of allowing everyone to use, control and contribute to it.

The "Every Letter" song from Cyrano.

• The song "Every Letter" is a song from the 2021 Cyrano film is played during Stan and Wendy's texting montage.
  • The plot of the episode is similarly referencing the original "Every Letter" scene from Cyrano. Cyrano writes passionate letters to Roxanne, but Christian sends them to her as his own letters.
• The technician acts like a shaman from sword and sorcery films, such as The Beastmaster.
• Shadowbane, the technician's falcon, is a reference to "Shadow Banning", the act of banning people's websites and social media accounts without them noticing. Using bots for spamming, unfair advantages and illegal activity can cause Shadow Ban.

Goofs

• Despite being killed off in "Season Finale", Jason White appears at the playground playing tether ball. This is an ongoing animation error in the series, and this particular clip is reused from "The Big Fix".
• When Mr. Mackey is explaining that someone has been caught using ChatGPT, Clyde is at the front of the classroom. When the camera pans to Stan looking at Cartman, Clyde is seen sitting at his desk.

• When Mr. Garrison is reading out Clyde's essay title, the portion of "1840s" is only translated as "années 40" ("40s").
• There are multiple instances where Mr. Mackey quotes his catchphrase of "M'kay", having not done so in the English version (e.g. During his announcement to the fourth-grade class, his conversation with the school advisory board technician etc.)
• The secretary calling Mr. Mackey ends her message with Mackey's catchphrase of "m'kay".

Italian

• When Stan asks for the time from Wendy, she replies "nearly 4:00" instead of "a little after 4:00".
