- This is the first appearance of Priest Maxi since "Red Hot Catholic Love".

- Kenny McCormick only has one line in this episode; when Cartman shows him the penis photo, he can be clearly heard saying "(chuckle) That makes you totally fucking gay!" Bebe Stevens has a brief line upon seeing it as well (Ew!).

- This is the ninth episode where Cartman's name is in the title
- Pastor Phillips, the counselor who was "cured" of his confusion, may be an allusion to Ted Haggard, who went to counseling to make him heterosexual after a man outed him
- When Cartman comes to find the picture, Stan, Kyle, and Kenny are all seen playing Living which is an allusion to the popular board game, Life.
- This is the second time Cartman has overreacted to getting hit by Kyle. The first was in "It's Christmas in Canada"

- Cyborg Bill makes a reappearance in this episode both as an action figure and in a poster that reads "Gi Bill Won't Run."
- When Cartman takes a picture of himself with Butters' penis in his mouth he gives a thumbs-up sign and smiles as he says that the picture is against the Iraq war. This is a reference to the controversy of Army Private Lynndie England, who took pictures of herself torturing the prisoners of a Abu Ghraib prison while smiling and giving a thumbs-up sign.
