This page contains trivia for "Cartman's Incredible Gift". Remember, trivia must be factual, provable, and it is always best to cite your source for not-so-obvious trivia. If you would like to dispute a trivia point, please discuss it in the talk page.

Trivia

  • The policemen break the fourth wall by saying that Veronica Crabtree had not been in any recent episodes and was "one [character] that the fans wouldn't miss much".

Continuity

  • Eric Cartman has a vision of a man making "quadruple stuffs" by taking tops of two double stuffed cookies and putting them together. He previously expressed his love for them in "Chef Goes Nanners".
  • Veronica Crabtree and the bird that rests in her hair are killed off in this episode. They are murdered by Michael Deets off screen, who also removes the former's left arm and the latter's left wing. Since her death, the bus driver is now Jose Venezuela, who has yet to speak or play a role.

References to Popular Culture

  • This central premise of the episode is a spoof of the Wikipedia:The Dead Zone (novel)book and film The Dead Zone.
  • The psychic battle scene is similar to the one in the movie Scanners. When Eric Cartman is warning Kyle Broflovski he can make his head explode, it is also a reference to an iconic scene of the same movie. Both Scanners and The Dead Zone are directed by Canadian cineast David Cronenberg.
  • The scene in the killer's basement is a parody of a similar scene in the novel and film Red Dragon, as well as the film Manhunter (which is also based on the novel). Cartman has to look at the killer's holiday pictures and see his "transformation". This is similar to Freddy Lounds being captured by the killer Francis Dolarhyde and forced to look at the murderer's victims, while he keeps saying "Do you see?".
  • Alternatively, the line "Do you see?" may be a reference to the film Event Horizon. The film's scenes of extreme violence and torture served as inspiration for another South Park episode, "Woodland Critter Christmas".
  • Butters Stotch telling Kyle Broflovski not to fly to close to the sun because his wings will melt is a reference to the mythological story of Icarus, who flew using mechanical wings that melted when he flew to close to the sun.
  • The psychic detective's line "Let this be our final battle!" references Skeletor in Masters of the Universe.
