  • By the time Yates arrested the pimp, he was doing nothing illegal as he was technically sleeping with his "wife" and not a prostitute.
  • Many have noticed that this is the only episode where Butters curses often. He curses occasionally in other episodes, but generally only uses euphemisms like "Oh hamburgers!".
    • The gag, of course, is that Butters does not use these words as "obscenities", but rather has learned them as trade jargon in his new job as a pimp.
  • In this episode, Butters' most commonly used obscenity is "motherfuckin".
  • A running gag through the episode is the fact that Yates takes his undercover assignment too far, and seemingly doesn't realize he doesn't need for them to have sex with him to arrest them for soliciting prostitution.
    • However, it may also indicate that Yates actually derives pleasure from the act, and is secretly using his job to fulfill his desires or fantasies.
  • Butters telling Kyle "Sorry, I'm not your little buddy anymore." is possibly a reference to animation director Eric Stough's nickname of "Little Buddy".
  • This is the second episode to include Butters' name in the title, with "Butters' Very Own Episode" being the first.

Referenced to Popular Culture

  • One of the pimps that gives Butters advice ("It's all about mind control") is designed after comedian Katt Williams, with a similar voice and outfit.
  • Butters going to ACORN to get a loan for his kissing company references the manufactured ACORN scandal that had recently occurred.
  • The song Sergeant Yates dances to is titled "Fuck the Pain Away" by Peaches.
  • According to the commentary track, the documentary American Pimp was an inspiration for this episode.

  • Scott Malkinson returns, so he may be a regular character on the show now, and thus, a new classmate in fourth grade.
  • Cartman also was an undercover prostitute in the Season Two episode "Chickenlover".
  • Kyle's concern about Butters' first kiss is possibly a reflection of his and Bebe's kiss in "Clubhouses".
  • After the Alpha Tau Omega bust, Yates barks to the other officers that half of frat boys didn't even use a condom, following up by yelling at students, "Don't you stupid kids know the diseases you could catch!" This would be a nod to both Proper Condom Use and The Ring, the latter in which Kenny died of syphilis (funnily enough, despite using a condom) just eight episodes ago.
  • Kanye West is seen when Butters goes to the pimp convention drinking alcohol, therefore proving Kanye is still alive in South Park's world. He is also shown in "200", and has a more expanded role in "The Hobbit".
  • When Butters arrives at the meeting of pimps, the reaction is the same as in the episode "Krazy Kripples".

  • The boys make fun of Butters for never having kissed a girl, but Rebecca Cotswolds kissed him in "Hooked on Monkey Fonics".
  • In the scene after Butters suggests starting an actual company he mentions a "Caitlin", however according to the chart behind him his "employees" are called Annie, Megan, Sally, and Ashley.
  • In a scene where Yates is undercover, the outside view of the car shows it in a wide-open area, but when the police move in for the arrest, the car is in an alley.

Hidden Visitor(s)

  • When Butters is looking at his bitch's sticker chart a small drawing of a visitor can be seen in the top right corner.
