Synopsis

Cartman tries to give himself Asperger's Syndrome in an unusual way. Meanwhile, Stan can't seem to get his life back to normal no matter what he tries. Will anything ever be the same in South Park again?

Plot

After Stan's parents have divorced, and has lost his friends, Stan has fallen into a severe depression, where he is now completely alienated from everyone. After announcing vaccines at the school, Stan is sent to Mr. Mackey for throwing an outburst in a fit of rage. There, Mr. Mackey tries to convince Stan that life cannot get back to the way he wants it to be, and that it is just the way it is but after a depressing speech from Stan Mr Macky suspects that his last flu vaccination may has given him Aspergers. Later on, an Asperger's issue rises within South Park and a bill is passed on behalf of Stan preventing school vaccinations.

Meanwhile at school, Cartman attempts to fake his Aspergers by sneaking up home-made burgers up his butt, and forging false health-related issues, but the school nurse who unlike Cartman knows Aspergers does not mean you get burgers in your ass angrily sends him away. Disturbed about Stan's current state, Wendy approaches Kyle and attempts to persuade him to talk in some sense with Stan and start their relationship anew, but Kyle calmly refuses, and reiterates that they cannot simply start anew. Noticing Cartman, Kyle has a taste of one of his homemade burgers and is shocked by it's amazing taste, being unaware that Cartman actually shoved it up his butt. Soon, the entire school starts liking his burgers, and eventually Kyle and Kenny, as well as Butters form a small business selling these products.

Horrified by her son's current state, Sharon sends Stan to an Asperger Research facility, in hopes that his cynicism will come to an end. However, the research centre proves to be a fake, and is actually an organization that aims to eliminate "Ass Burgers", much to the shock of Stan. Angered, Stan attempts to leave, but instead stays upon hearing that the organization can allow him to see the world he once enjoyed. Upon consuming a glass of an alcoholic beverage, Stan can finally see the world he once saw, but begins to develop a serious addiction. Eventually, he becomes so ill that his overall state continues to deteriorate, even foul-mouthing Kyle at one point, straining further chances of them getting back together.

The organization continues to feed alcohol to Stan, until they are convinced that will Stan warns the townsfolk that his cynicism is caused by Aliens. Meanwhile, a secret meeting of some of America's successful Fast Food Chains hold talks about how to eliminate Cartman's business once and for all by trying to find out what is causing people to like. Eventually, when Stan accidentally breaks in their office, the crew force Stan into finding out Cartman's "secret ingredient". Eventually a gunfight ensues, but Stan takes a change of heart, and finally returns back to normal. He then tells Kyle that he can stay best friends with Cartman, and finally accepts how he sees the world, much to Kyle's delight.

Abruptly after his announcement, things finally return back to normal: Randy and Sharon have reconciled and have moved back in their old house, Randy has ended his unhealthy obsessions, and Stan is stunned by life returning to normal after he was ready to accept change. Also, Cartman's business has ended when Kyle found out that his secret ingredient was his ass.

The episode starts closing with Stan waking up and hearing real words instead of the crap sounds on the radio. Kyle, Kenny and Cartman visit Stan's house, requesting him to come over to the movies with them, implying that they have become friends with Stan again. Upon leaving, Stan takes a sip of the alcohol provided to him by the organization, and is last seen walking down the stairs, and the credits roll in silence.
