The 2001 Okama Gamesphere was a revolutionary console priced at $399.99 and a parody of the real-life Nintendo GameCube. "Okama" is Japanese for "gay person" or "male transvestite".
Background[]
The console appeared prominently in the episode "Towelie" and has since been made a plot device for the game South Park: Big Wheel Death Rally. Furthermore, it appeared in South Park: The Stick of Truth and South Park: The Fractured But Whole where the boot screen was shown. It has also made several Easter egg appearances in backgrounds.
Thirst for Blood[]
Thirst for Blood is the only game seen across any media for the 2001 Okama Gamesphere. Thirst for Blood seems to be similar to '80s and '90s fighting games like Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat.
Specifications[]
It is satirically said to have 128 Gigahertz D-RAM. It also boasts four controller ports (which are marked as A, B, C and D on the front) and appears to have a disc drive.
Prominence[]
- "Towelie" - First appearance.
- "It's Christmas in Canada" - Seen in the window of a store.
- "Goobacks" - Seen in the window of a store.
- "You Got F'd in the A" - Seen at the arcade during the pizza party.
- "Make Love, Not Warcraft" - In the background of Jenkins' apartment.
- "1%" - Tolkien Black has one in his room when Eric Cartman stays the night.
