This page contains trivia for "200". Remember, trivia must be factual, provable, and it is always best to cite your source for not-so-obvious trivia. If you would like to dispute a trivia point, please discuss it in the talk page.

Trivia

South Park 200 Cake
  • As a result of this episode including an image of Muhammad in disguise, Trey Parker and Matt Stone were threatened by a radical Islamic website IslamPolicy, formerly known as RevolutionMuslim.[1] (However, it turned out to be Santa Claus in disguise the next episode.)
  • A cake (pictured) was made for the South Park crew shortly before the day of the episode's broadcast in celebration of what they felt was a "milestone" for the series.
  • The show became banned in Sri Lanka after showing an image Buddha sniffing cocaine.
  • Several deceased celebrities (both in real life and show continuity) are shown in the episode. This may have been intentional as all the celebrities would've had to be inserted one-by-one in the animation process. However, the fact that celebrities such as George Lucas and Steven Spielberg have managed to appear again, despite on-screen deaths in the show, may imply that celebrities have a Kenny-esque loophole in the South Park Continuity that allows them to die and come back without explanation.
  • The promo video of the celebrities in front of the citizens of South Park talking about a class-action lawsuit is never seen.
  • While many of the characters retain their old appearance in this episode (although many have had their looks "polished" since their initial appearances), Mecha-Streisand is completely re-designed from her initial appearance in Season One. She is now completely CGI in design.
  • As Mecha-Streisand is powered up, a Japanese voice (parodying the Japanese Man who sung in a similar tone in "Mecha-Streisand") is heard singing: "バーブラ、バーブラ、一番嫌いな人。 バーブラ、バーブラ、鼻が大きい" (Baabura, Baabura, Ichiban Kirai Na Hito. Baabura, Baabura, Hana Ga Ookii) which translates into English as: "Barbara, Barbara, the person we hate the most. Barbara, Barbara, your nose is big". This is referencing to Matt and Trey's hatred for her (In fact, they once happily said, "A lot of our fans ask us, 'Do you really hate the celebrities you make fun of in South Park?' And the answer is: of course not. It's all just in good fun... except when it comes to Barbra Streisand! We hate her!").
  • Although "200" was originally available for purchase on iTunes, it has now been removed. In Australia, it has been put back up.
  • This episode and its counterpart are missing from the UK release of Season Fourteen.
  • Both this episode and "201" are not published on South Park Studios, although they are still listed.

Continuity

  • This episode shows assorted celebrities who are dead either in real life, South Park continuity, or both.
  • Tom Cruise and the Church of Scientology threatened to sue Stan Marsh once before in "Trapped in the Closet.
  • In the trailer, the boys were forced to appear before the town counsel. They did so previously during "The F Word".
  • This marks the second appearance of Jared Fogle. He also has a somewhat different voice from what he had in "Jared Has Aides".
  • This marks the the third appearance/mentioning of Muhammad. In his first appearance in "Super Best Friends," he was shown uncensored without issue.
  • Jesus appears in this episode after having not had a prominent role for some time.
  • This episode makes reference to a number of past episodes including "Cartman's Mom is Still a Dirty Slut," "Trapped in the Closet," and "Mecha-Streisand".
  • This is the first real appearance of Mr. Hat since "The Death Camp of Tolerance," although he does appear in a cameo in "Pre-School".
  • Cartman first began to question who his father was in "Cartman's Mom Is a Dirty Slut". However, it wasn't until "Cartman's Mom is Still a Dirty Slut" that Cartman's father was allegedly Liane Cartman who was supposedly a hermaphrodite. Before this episode, this had only been referenced one other time in "City on the Edge of Forever (Flashbacks)".
  • The "Goo" that Rob Reiner mentions is a reference to the goo that leaked out of him at the end of "Butt Out".
  • The "Packing Fudge" comments directed at Tom Cruise are similar to the "Come out of the Closest" comments made in "Trapped in the Closet". Both are hardly subtle jokes regarding the rumors that Tom Cruise is a homosexual who is in the closet. Also note the many closets Jared finds in Tom's house.
  • Second appearance of Mitch Conner. The first was "Fat Butt and Pancake Head".
  • Bono mentions the town of South Park accusing him of being made of shit. This references the Season Eleven episode "More Crap".
  • The Diamond of Pantheos, which transformed Barbara Streisand into Mecha-Streisand, was broken apart and hidden in the five corners of Canada. However, Mel Gibson is seen using the Diamond to re-power the newly rebuilt Mecha-Streisand. They could have all located them and retrieved them though.
  • During "Starvin' Marvin in Space," Sally Struthers was shown to look like Jabba the Hutt. However, in "The Death of Eric Cartman" and this episode she is shown to look human again, similar to her first appearance in "Starvin' Marvin".
  • While not stated specifically, it appears that the current group of Ginger Extremists may be a revival of the group founded by Eric Cartman. They are, for example, using the Sunset Ballroom at the Airport Hilton. The original Ginger Extremist Group appeared in "Ginger Kids".
  • Tim Burton was the only celebrity to join Tom Cruise's group but had not yet been made fun of on South Park. (Though, when Tom Cruise convinced Tim to join him, questioning if Tim would appreciate if someone mocked him that "he hasn't had an original idea since Beetlejuice" and his constant partnership with Johnny Depp saying that if he loved him so much he should marry him already, ironically mocking Tim through the South Park world).
  • Despite Tom Cruise mentioning to all the celebrities that they can relate to being "slandered" in South Park, some celebrities such as Sally Struthers, Russell Crowe, John Edward and Michael Bay were not actually physically mocked in the town itself, but instead on TV or in a different location. However, they still agree to sue the whole town.
  • Despite being deceased in real life since October 10, 2004, Christoper Reeve still made an appearance.
  • This serves as the final ever appearance of Mr. Hat.  Mr. Garrison would be assisted by Mr. Slave from then on.
  • At the end of the Super Best Friends intro sequence, a copyright of "© 2001 Divinity Comics Inc. and Coexist Peacefully Productions, INC." is included. This is a reference to the 2001 episode "Super Best Friends", where Muhammad was first shown, and was uncensored.

References to Popular Culture

  • When Tom Cruise is seen jumping and ranting on the couch where Oprah is sitting, this is a reference to when he did the same thing on an episode of Oprah.
  • When Rob Reiner says "Release the Kyke-en!" it is a parody of the movie "Clash Of The Titans," as well as the offensive slang term for Jew (kyke), because Barbara Streisand is Jewish.

Celebrities

The celebrities that appear in this episode and "201" are as follows:

Goofs

Mr garrison 2
  • Despite the fact that the confrontation between the South Park townspeople and the Gingers in South Park's road, and the confrontation between Cartman, Mr. Garrison, Mitch Conner and Mr. Hat at Mr. Garrison's house happen at the same time, Mr. Garrison is shown in both locations. The South Park staff stated that it was a goof. It was fixed for the DVD release.[2]
  • When Cartman tells Mr. Garrison to put Mr. Hat on, only one of Mitch Connor's eyes are on his hand.
  • Rob Reiner and Barbra Streisand are sad to have together. But the only time that happened was when Streisand used one of her songs (I'll Know) in one of Reiner's movies (When Harry met Sally).

Censorship

This episode is banned in (including but not limited to):

  • Mexico
  • Germany
  • Sweden
