I know Butters has gone through some change over the years so I'm interested on what people think these days

Sometimes I do feel bad for him. Occasionally (like in post covid special) leaves me thinking 'get over yourself'
By South Park standards he is good. IMO he is slightly above Kyle. Neither are great even by South Park standards.
Bottom 5 of the entire series
Really boring episode
'The Return of Chef' sucks by the fact that we lost one of the best characters of the show. On its own however, it is a decent episode.
'A Million Little Fibers' is truly abysmal. The most boring and cringey episode of the entire show.
'Stanley's Cup' is just kinda below average. Nothing too bad.
Indifferent to 'D-Yikes', 'More Crap', 'Lice Capades' and 'The Snuke'
Favourites from season 11 are: 'With Apologies to Jesse Jackson' (favourite season premiere of the show), 'Cartman Sucks' and the imaginationaland trilogy (second favourite trilogy)
The show has been going on for so long so in order to avoid becoming a husk of itself the show must come up with new ideas and that gets harder and harder to do the longer the show goes on. This show has been going on for 24 seasons which is incredibly long.
In comparison to another long-running comedy cartoon 'The Simpsons', that show was getting stale at around season 9 (and cracks were showing even as early as season 8 with some people considering 'Homer's Enemy' as the 'jump the shark' moment despite it being a beloved episode) and by season 12 onwards, it became a husk of itself with very few really good episodes past that point.
For South Park, I think it has had two 'jump the shark' moments (although the show definitely still has life in it) both of the moments occurring in season 20 in 'The Damned' and 'Oh Jeez' (Cartman getting a gf is a stupid idea that is dead on arrival, Mr Garrison's change of heart comes out of nowhere)
@Availableusername567 some of the serialization worked in season 18 and it was used well in season 19. It was fine in seasons 22 and 23 so I would never go as far as saying serialization killed South Park
Why is Stan so low :(
There were some good ideas in S20 such as member berries and the Garrison arc before 'Oh Jeez' and the gender war and an idea that was dead on arrival *cough* Heiman *cough*. For me, it just dragged on way too long
Season 19 is better than any of the seasons 22-24 but seasons 20 and 21 are my least favourite seasons. The difference between season 19 and season 20 is night and day in terms of quality
Good list. I don't agree with a fair amount of them but I do like the mix of classic and some later season stuff
I have my rankings on imdb here's the link for season 5 ranking and you can see other rankings as well https://www.imdb.com/list/ls505303364/
Bear in mind I use 6/10 as a positive score which I know a lot of people don't
Seasons 20-21 This is the worst era. Gerald is unlikable and not funny. Cartman is boring in these seasons as well his gf although they give her some character. Mr Garrison has a decent start to his arc in season 20. Several plotlines in season 20 go nowhere (I'm looking at you member berries). The back of season 21 is when the show becomes a soap opera and the Cartman-Heidi arc doesn't work since they are 10-year-olds and Matt and Trey want to have it both ways of laughing at it and sympathising with Heidi which clash and neither is achieved particularly well. 'SuperHard PCness' is a very important Kyle episode and the most important episode of season 21 although not the best episode of that season (that goes to 'Holiday Special')
Seasons 20 and 21 for me are the worst (and the only seasons where the bad outweighs the good) but out of these, seasons 13-15 although season 13 is notably better than seasons 14 and 15
'Make Love not Warcraft', 'Tsst' and 'Hell on Earth 2006'
@Unbreakableunion I would also like to see Craig get a major role without Tweek and the same applies with Tweek. They are both decent characters and the show to reduce them to just Creek would be a shame (even tho I like Creek)
