FOR FREEDOM! FOR SOVEREIGNTY! THE NEW ERA OF THE WIKI IS AT HAND!

no longer will we be the rats feeding off the archives' festering corpse! no longer will we live under the yoke foisted upon us by those hoity-toity archivists who abandoned us for a rival wiki! from this day forward we assert that this is our wiki! it will have the priorities we choose for it to have! and it will have the name we choose for it to have!

thank you to everyone who voted (even if you voted wrongly). and special thanks to @Jacques1194 for making this possible.

here's some ideas to start off with;

south park locations like:

South Park Elementary

South Park Library

SoDoSoPa, or SoDoSoPedia i rather like.

it can have a more community focus like:

South Park Community Wiki

The People's Wiki of South Park

or how about short and sweet instead:

SPedia

SP Wiki

or maybe we should just keep it basic:

South Park Wiki

The admin has not closed the poll. You want to change the wiki name, you must give more time for the people. But it's only been 4 days.

@1357 For Life 4 days is plenty of time, 22 votes is a lot for this community, and 'yes' has been winning for most of the time it's been up. sorry that you only noticed it now that i have brought it to your attention.

but you're welcome to give your input about what the new name should be. all are welcome to contribute.

No, 4 days is not plenty of time. You think people have time and come in everyday?

Why no site notice? Why no announcement? You just want to rush things and leave out the people who don't check in every day.

I say 2 weeks should be the bar for big changes like this.

@1357 For Life like i said, 22 votes is a lot here. it doesn't look like you've participated on the discussions page here before, but i've been here for years, and 22 is a lot, especially now after so many have gone to the new wiki. it's not as if tens of voter are going to spawn out of the either in 2 weeks when the poll is already burried. there might be a couple new votes now only because this post brought attention to it, but the needle aint move'n.

Why do you think it's "icky" for Fandom to be using a name that they have been holding on for nearly 20 years? All the past admins were okay with Fandom before, suddenly they move out to another platform because they want to and now you want to take away the name from Fandom too?

@1357 For Life because the fandom corporation did not build the archives, niether did either of us, nor anyone else that chooses to be here now. the archivists built the archives, and they all left. not just the admins, but all the major editors too. i'm not saying i agree with their choice to leave, but it was their choice to make, and they did in fact take the name with them.

now, we can either have a confusing situation where there are 2 'south park archives', where we are the obvious knock-off version, or as was voted, we can have our own distinct identity that better expresses who we are.

@Whitehorse24 i can respect that. and just to b clear, this name change will not effect in any way the name of the south park archives at https://southpark.wiki.gg/wiki/South_Park_Archives -that's the archives' new site, and it will probably keep that name until the end of time.

but if you're willing to stick with us here i got some cool unique words;

Codex or Codexes

Compendium or Compendia
