for those that don't know, this wiki has gone through a major change in the last year. all the former admins and major editors that made this wiki what it was have now left, and now continue south park archives as it was, and as they like it to be over at https://southpark.wiki.gg/wiki/South_Park_Archives. you can read the full explanation here: https://southpark.wiki.gg/wiki/Blog:Farewell_to_Fandom
i'm not associated with them or anything, in fact i rather like the niche forum experience that fandom offers here, which is something the old team quite dramatically rejected 3 years ago when they closed down the discussions page. plus, like any sensible person, i use an ad block, and it's quite effective, so i literally do not know what people are complaining about in that regard.
so for me, i don't mind this wiki continuing to exist and evolve as people see fit, and i will gladly participate in the discussions here as i did long ago. it just seems rather icky to me that fandom is continuing to use the south park archives brand, when in every meaningful way, that brand was built by the editors and admins who are all now over at the wiki.gg site using the same name, which i think they've more than earned the right to.
idk what the future holds for this wiki, but surely it will continue to diverge from the vision that the south park archives team has. maybe it will diverge in bad ways, and maybe it will diverge in good ways; like bringing back the discussions page. either way, it has a distinct identity that the name "South Park Archives" does not invoke for me, and that the real south park archives team does not wish to be associated with. so i say we avoid all the future confusion and drama by planting our own flag here and allow this community to establish its own brand and reputation.
it can be something simple like "South Park Wiki" or "Southpedia" or something more original. provide your own suggestions below.
