I really see them as South Park's equivalent of What If...?

Canon or Non-Canon…but who knows, I think the COVID movies actually reminded me of Marvel’s What If…? And don’t get me wrong! I think it could be Canon or something…

In the sense that we're continuing in the version of reality with the broship staying together and randy having saved the day again with weed, yes. but are they destined for the future where stan is some kind of space marine and cartman is homeless? i would assume that for now, but also look at how much the future has already been messed with just from the other timetravel episodes, so i would say things are not so deterministic in this universe.

Could it be possible that the Post Covid movies are one of the few possible futures in this timeline? Just like how in a few episodes of The Simpsons that there are many possible futures in the show.

It is a kind of non-canonical canon. I explain.

It is canon because it follows the plot of Randy and the marjuana, Ned (from the future) is shown with the sequels that the MBP attack left him ... etc. And it is not canonical since the boys will return to their childhood age in the coming seasons. It has Canon stuff and non-canon stuff in between mixed in.
