So as we all know, South Park has been renewed for season 30 in 2027, and 14 new films are on the way, with two dropping this year. Although I do wonder when the next episode will come out, there hasn't been much word on that. Matt stated in a zoom chat back in April that they were planning an episode in June, but obviously that never happened, and I don't know if Trey's gotten back from his vacation in Texas yet, but I'm sure he has. Even though Matt Stone is reluctant to use the phrase "cinematic universe", in a way it is cause they're expanding upon the South Park world and introducing new characters and concepts. Although in my opinion I don't think they should be introducing a whole bunch of new characters and work on the ones they already have. I mean seriously the amount of background characters the show has is on par with The Simpsons, it would really be unnecessary to create new characters. So what do you guys think they should do with the characters? What are your ideas for how they can expand them?
Also, since Matt and Trey are trying to buy Casa Bonita, and how there are petitions supporting them (I myself signed the "We Don't Want You" petition), do you think that will be a topic that will be covered in the next episode? They could also reference how Casa Bonita in real life as declined in quality, from what I've heard. I also believe that maybe they can confirm a couple of fan theories. Perhaps maybe they could confirm the theory that Kenny and Cartman share a spiritual connection and that Cartman is aware of Kenny's immortality, or Kyle being the only one in town to know that nobody has aged in over 20 years, or how Kenny's deaths and resurrection cycles caused the town of South Park to get stuck in a time loop where no one ages, like those kind of interesting concepts, Matt and Trey themselves have stated in that interview that they would be working on new concepts, perhaps those are a few.
Anyway that's all I had to say, what do you guys think?
