I thought it was a decent season and it did a good job at establishing the characters and the world of South Park. You can tell Matt and Trey did not take themselves too seriously, they have this "we're just fucking around" vibe. It's a shame Trey Parker now hates seasons 1-3, I thought they were great (albeit season 2 was pretty weak compared to seasons 1 and 3).

I like season 1! It's obviously not the best season, but it did a solid job of introducing the characters and settings! I'd argue South Park has a better first season than most shows. If you're wondering how I'd rank all the seasons...

It's a decent set-up for the show. Not close to the best, but did help set the groundwork for the later seasons and characters.
