This post sounds so much I like used to sound that it 'hurts' ngl
I am using 'hurts' in the colloquial sense as in fact feel no emotional or physical pain connected to posts on this website.
"Wendy Testaburger, is a character which offers a deep and thorough examination of society, and is typically hated by those that exhibit traits of internalized misogyny. Her character is actually VERY complex, and this is something which is often forgotten about in relation to when people speak about her."
Like most characters outside the main five boys, Mr. Garrison, Randy, maybe Chef, and bigger maybe Jimmy, she is a loose archetype... the same one as Heidi, Sharon, and the other female characters. She has no unique traits except being even MORE jealous and petty than the rest of them, from what we can tell. I'd say it's a shame but if she was a more significant character we'd probably be debating if she was racist or something.
"You see, I use to be a Wendy hater however this is something which changed as I begun to develop my own critical thinking (however it is totally fine to dislike her and still have some forms of critical thinking)."
I went over the opposite development arc. I used to really like the character and now I kind of hope they kill her off sometime. Jason had more potential than she does at this point.
"Wendy Cheeseburger is a character which is necessary to the longevity of South Park and she forms a cosmic balance within the universe with her being a counter to the vile Erika Cartman who goes around trying to cause trouble wherever he goes. He's a sexist and embodies everything which the typical Wendy HATER also has."
Kyle Broflovski is unironically this character. He actually counters Cartman everywhere he causes trouble and these debates provide a baseline for whatever Trey and Matt oppose. Compare with the famous McCoy-Spock debates from the orginal Star Trek, which allowed the viewer to hear distinct perspectives on an issue. Kenny is Scotty, ignored half the time but super important when they remember he exists. Butters is Chekov, silly and naive but prone to passions. Wendy doesn't fit this dynamic at all.
"When we're actually trying to develop an understanding of South Park, we can see that Wendy was actually behind everything. Take Cartman's transformation into what he had become, Wendy was at first pivotal within this whereby she would bully him but during Season 4 the kind Wendy would try to give him a chance during the debate thing around the flag. However, she had noticed that Eric wouldn't change and instead chose to be able to defend the rights of others. She would fight, the brave fight, over issues such as Transphobia and Breast Cancer awareness against her arch nemesis and would continuously win out."
Wendy became more and more passive towards Cartman's embrace of fascism over time, whereas Kyle became more concerned about it; as the threat level increased, Wendy disengaged and Kyle became more involved. When evil rises to power, she steps back and allows others to do the hard work, then in peacetime she donates her food to needy kids in one of the most developed cities in Africa. Kyle is self-righteous but at least he went to Mogadishu which is actually poor.
"Wendy is truly a brave icon and is someone that we should all strive to be like."
I think it's pretty obvious in the show's writing that the character we're supposed to emulate is Randy Marsh, who built an entire business from the ground-up in the span of a week and has become the corporate ologiarch in control of the entire drug industry in the United States within a single season. That's inspiring.
...
As you can guess a lot of this isn't serious, some of it is though, have fun.
